I am just wondering about what Christians (of all denominations) believe about the signs that lead to the Day of Judgement. I was wondering if there is anything in the Bible that describes any "minor signs" or "major signs" that will occur before the Day of Judgement? What will happen on that Day?

There is a huge sign but I don't know if many people will take notice of it for what it really is.....it's called the rapture. Christ is coming to take His church (the saved) out of the world....all that have received Him as their personal Saviour will be taken away....we will vanish. If you want to know about the signs of his coming, you can find it in Matthew 24.....and those signs of the times have been fulfilled, my friend. The day of judgement is not something to look forward to if you don't know Jesus.....it is called the Great White Throne judgment. At that time, all the people who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour will be sentenced to eternal torment in hell. My prayer is that you, my friend, will not be one of those poor lost souls!

If I've interpreted the Bible correctly, then the Jews regathering back at Israel and then them retaking Jeurusalem, both of which have been fulfilled are supposed to be major signs (see Ezekiel 37-38). Another major sign will be when Israel is attacked by a large country from the north ("Gog" which was in the same area as Russia) and three other smaller nations ("Persia, Sudan and Libya" - most likely their modern day counter-parts, i.e. countries in the same area today). The LORD will then defend Israel and defeat her enemies (Ezekiel 38-39).

Also, the rapture of the church and [after that] the mass Christian conversions of the Israelites will be two more massive signs of the end.

What will happen on Judgment Day? The Earth and the sky will be in an uproar, the dead will rise from their graves, and Jesus will return to judge all the living and the dead. When Christ returns, believers will be resurrected in new bodies that resemble His likeness.

However, we honestly don't know when Jesus will return, but we are cautioned to always remain alert and ready. Personally, I believe that the last days are near, but if they are not then it is my misinterpretation of the Scriptures that is wrong, not the Scriptures themselves. I won't be too disturbed as I know where I'm going - the method of "transportation" doesn't matter much to me. If I'm raptured with the rest of the church that'll be cool, but if I die then I know that I will be resurrected because God resurrected Jesus and that same power will resurrect all Christians whose trust is in the name of the LORD.

I would just like to point out that Catholics do not acept this rapture doctrine and would say that it is a recent protestant invention. Also totally unscriptural.

There is the final judgement. and then there is the Day of the Lord (also called the second coming of the Messiah Jesus)

There are signs that will happen before the Day of The Lord Jesus. The Moon will turn the color of blood (red) And the Sun will be darkened. There will be a great earthquake, the greatest earthquake in History.

That's the Preterist belief, that Revelation has already come and passed many years ago. I believe Revelation is what's to come.

If you want to know more, pray, and read this book. Keep in mind that some things aren't to be taken in the literal sense, as the creature with many heads and many crowns - this is symbolism. There are many prophecy students who are trying to unravel the mysteries of Revelations, and some, I'll tell you, are convincing. I believe that we're in the last days right now, and to dismiss that is to dismiss a large portion of scripture.

May I add that these beasts are symbols of empires that still exist today in mankinds short history. The Roman empire still exists as well as the empire of Islam which is now having a resurgence due to oil money of America and Great Britain in the past half a century or so.
Revelations tells us the complete story of Messiah and His coming kingdom of 1000 years, and then the final assault by the devil that is put down before the final white throne judgment. All the dead are resurrected for judgment and the books are opened. The Bible says blessed are those who take part in the first resurrection, for they will rule and reign with Jesus for a thousand years which is that final day of rest or sabbath on earth, where the spears are turned into plowshares and pruning forks. The wolf will dwell with the lamb, and peace will rule the entire earth for 1000 years.

Revelations 20:6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.

Thank you to everyone who took the time out to answer my question. I am praying that no one will suffer the wrath of God on the Day of Judgement. Hopefully, our faces will be white with joy on this Day.

I agree with everyone that we are in the End of Times. Just look at the world around us, not only at political wars. Children are disrespecting their parents, people are walking away from the path of God. I remember I read somewhere in the Old Testament that one of the signs of the Day of Judgement is that premature babies will speak (it went something like this if I am not mistaken) and as we know back then it was a dangerous time to give birth to children because of the great health risks (and no medicine to provide).

Muslims also believe Jesus (alayhis salam....means peace be upon him) will return before the Day of Judgement. The End Times really began when Jesus ascended into heaven...since then, there have been wars and rumors of wars, etc.... Each generation seems to think that Christ will come very soon.

Jesus will return in the sky to defeat the massed army of the Anti-Christ who will be massed on the plains of Meggido (Amaggedon). This army is numbered at 200 million troops. Jesus will defeat this army and capture the anti-christ.
