  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

About scriptures generally.

Bible is the truth we all know that but is it possible that it can be multileveled truth. What I mean by this that is it possible that Holy Spirit is opening certain verses for you personally more deeper level, so there is many truths for many people. I don't know if I explained this well enough?

one singular truth seen from many advantage points ...

the bible is true but not The truth , we are, understanding the bible speaks to a process happening in us as us ...

Pay close and prayerful attention when you read the word of God. If a passage or verse "sticks out of the page" or "clicks" or surprises you, (for lacking of better words), God is probably speaking to you.

For example, one might've forgotten that they had spoken violently to their parents a few hours ago, then, behold, they randomly read: 'whoever curses their parents shall be stoned to death', the Spirit will convict that person to repentance through the word in this way.

Since the word of God is truth, and the Spirit is truth, they both work in unity to provide revelation on a "more deeper level" as you rightly point out.

You should pray over verses when you feel it's necessary, but ideally always

John 1:12 is an example I'll use for what the OP is talking about.

For those that received him, those that believed in his name, he gave the right to be called children of God.

Now some see this as a license to not be Baptized...
Others see the past tense and say "too late for me then".
Others key in on the "children of God" and declare that they are "sons of God". (Bene Elohim)
Some see this as license to have no good works.

Lots of things people take away from scripture...it doesn't mean that what they take away is accurate. YMMV

Aside from the beauty and pure, raw Truth in that verse, one could also conclude that the world lies to itself when it opines "We are ALL children of God!"

Not until one has believed in the Lord Jesus and his finished work does one have the RIGHT to say that in truth.

Another might remember his son cursed him violently and read the Bible finding a passage recommending stoning a rebellious son. He might then try to kill his son making himself guilty of 3rd degree premeditated murder.

God is true. The Bible alone is not God. It is subject to misinterpretation as much as it is praised for salvation.

is it possible that Holy Spirit is opening certain verses for you personally more deeper level, so there is many truths for many people.
What can happen is the Holy Spirit will give you something, and then you find out that someone else you know got the same thing from the Holy Spirit :)

And what the Holy Spirit gives one person will be in agreement with what the Holy Spirit gives to someone else. Even if the messages are different, for a same scripture, their meanings will agree and/or supplement each other, or they can.

But . . . what if someone else is even a minister and that person gets what disagrees with something you know God has given you? You trust what God has given to you; of course, though, it might only seem there is disagreement, and we need more understanding.

And even if it can seem like there is confusion so no one can figure out an answer about a scripture > you do not have to prove something which is right, to someone else. If it is right, you can feed on it. And what I am finding is good, is to see how a scripture can help us to love > the love meaning . . . versus only some intellectual conclusion or belief thing.

People might be talking about what a scripture means for a certain question, and you might not be able to figure out how to interpret that scripture and the meanings of its words . . . for that question.

But, even so, you can discover how that scripture can help you to love.

For example, the bible says the Jews used animal skins for making things of their worship center. It seems that one translated Hebrew word can mean badger skins. Or it can mean antelope. And another, even, might be dugong, of all things! And it is possible that no one can absolutely prove which word is correct.

But an antelope can thrive in harsh conditions and still be beautiful and reproduce. Like this, in God's love we can be beautiful to God while going through hard things, and live and love as family.

Or > a badger is an unclean animal, for ones under the Law of Moses; so if God were to have badger skins in His worship center, this could represent how He loves Gentiles and includes them.

And a dugong is a sea creature > this can represent, for loving, how a dugong lives in the sea while worldly people merely can use the sea for commerce . . . for making money; so this interpretation could feed us to not love money, plus to use things of this life for loving and not merely for our own selves.

So, you can use any scripture, I would say, for helping you and feeding you to love :)

An interesting Scripture with built-in duality Proverbs 26:4-5

Do not answer a fool according to his folly,
or you yourself will be like him.
Answer a fool according to his folly,
lest he become wise in his own eyes.

What has happened to me many times is that when I ask God to help me with certain issue he has also lead me to the right verse to give me answer. Or if I need encouragement in some area of my life he has given me verses which perfectly fit to encourage me. Also some verses which someone else interpret in some way I have totally different understanding of it, so im in the middle of "Do I trust my own/holy spirit guidance" or someone else's view. Personally I think I can trust my/holy spirit. It's sometimes hard to say is it just my own understanding or holy spirit. But I pray that God strengthens me with this.
