No church, apostate or not, has the authority to decide who gets saved and who doesn’t. I also don’t believe an apostate church can block or prevent someone who is written in the book of life from becoming saved. The apostate church does not allow entrance into heaven, but actually blocks heaven, damning millions to sheol.
In fact the apostate church has done more blocking than those few religious shepherds of Jesus' day.
Do you think the apostate church has legitimate authority over who is redeemed and who is not redeemed?
I didn’t think the analogy of an apostate church fits with Matthew 23. In Matthew 23:3 Jesus says all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
If a person finds themselves in an apostate church should they observe and do all that that church tells them to do? Should a person sell their house and give the proceeds to an apostate church that told them to do so? That appears to be what happened in Matthew 23:14.
