We don't know the details of abiogenesis yet. But if it were proven it would certainly not preclude God's involvement.
Indeed.
At the end of the day, no matter what science discovers, there will always be room for one to believe a God was behind everything.
I suggest reading up on "spontaneous generation". It's an ancient belief in abiogenesis and was quite common, even in Europe.Interesting. I wasn't aware that the hypothesis had been "discredited" nor was I aware that this was ever a theory. I am incredulous. This doesn't seem legit.
It has nothing to do with time, but rather as I understand it, origins. Life could have originated here (and there was plenty of time for this to happen), or it could have originated elsewhere, and brought here via comet, meteor, or other.
I don't subscribe to believing in a deity being as simple as; making a choice to believe in one.
Some do, I don't.
That is not what I meant. You have a choice and to have that chose there can be nothing that will be an absolute God thing. He always leaves room for doubt and this is where your faith comes in. It is not blind faith. You have to have reason to trust and have faith. It doesn't just happen.

It's the same basic concept: life arising from non-life. Abiogenesis is the modern version of it.Spontaneous generation and abiogensis are completely different things. Spontaneous generation was the belief that things like maggots and flies came from decay material like rotting meat. They didn't know that flies were laying eggs in the stuff and that's how they reproduced. That is NOT what abiogenesis proposes.
Difference Between Spontaneous Generation & Abiogenesis
It's the same basic concept: life arising from non-life. Abiogenesis is the modern version of it.
No, it's not. As the link I provided explains.
Cool, competing links! They're basically the same, as the link I provide explains:
Spontaneous generation | Define Spontaneous generation at Dictionary.com
Most admit that enough time does not exist
for the accidental formation of life. Especially given
the precarious nature of the imagined process.
Tens of millions of vital cornerstones are needed for
most imagined series of events to unfold.
Funnily enough, Merriam-Webster's Medical Dictionary also defines Spontaneous Generation as abiogenesis.Funnily enough, dictionary.com is not a scientific source. My link was.
