  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Predictions on the number of suicide bombings and Isreali hell-icopter retailiations this week? This area is about to be come a cesspool for more and more violence. I'd like to see Bush talk to the real Palestinian leader...Arafat...even if he doesn't agree with him. Nixon talked with the Chinese and he sure didn't agree with them.

I'd like to see Bush put some real pressure on Sharon.

In a statement, Abbas told the Palestinian Legislative Council his reasons for stepping down. The fundamental problem, the statement said, was "Israel's unwillingness to implement its road map commitments and to undertake any constructive measures." He also said the United States and the international community "did not exert sufficient influence on Israel to implement its commitments in the road map to push the peace process forward or to end its military escalation."

True but you know that the conservatives love Isreal too much to actually try and make peace over there. Funny how during the Clinton years the region was so much more stable...and they had that crazy Netanyahu for PM for a while over there. A strong willed president could do make peace if they...

1. Put pressure on Isreal by threatening to cut off military aid.
2. Slapped the other Arab nations to get the Palestinians in line.
3. Made a strong definitive statement on the entire issue. This is the most important part, and so far Bush has skirted around the issue.

Hey even send in Rumsfield if you have to. The guy's an arrogant old prick but he can say what needs to be said from time to time. Money, bombs...all these things threatened in the right context can help end the conflict.

you heard about failed assasination attempts in palestine right?

No I didn't but obviously Abbas isn't the answer. He had a 1.7% support of Palestinians, and thats including the margin of error! Arafat's back, whether he is in power, or he picks his appointment.
