  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have attended several churches in our area including Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, non-denom, and specifically called Christian yet not being any of above.

What about you/others?

Just now I go to a Baptist church, but see it as simply the one where I'm 'home' . Grew up with the Church of Scotland (presbyterian) and Lutheran. Still technically a member of Lutheran church, as well as Baptist. Especially when I travel I'll visit other churches, I didn't even know Greek Catholic was a thing. Spent a lot of time in Orthodox, even if I didn't understand much, trusting that where two are gathered in His name, He is there - never lasted the full service, but would go home and give myself communion. Be interesting to see where I end up if I ever get to Israel :)

Koinonia for me is a non denominational church. (K is a tricky one!). Historically has been a Baptist church. A recent relocation to a different community included a name change, and the “Baptist” in the name was dropped.
