And John, why did God bother to shove fossils in the earth when he was creating it?

Why did God create the fossils record? I suppose that He was wanting us to know about those things. He had to have preserved them for a reason. There must be a lesson in it for us.

it seems a bit srange for him to destroy everything once and not tell us about it.

That was just about the first this He did tell us about in our Bible.

The only one I know that God has on a chain is satan.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. [2] He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

You may put a dog on a chain, but not a child. At least I would not put a child of mine on a chain.

*SIGH* I suppose I should be more literal. I meant that it seems like God was deliberately creating a situation that would seem to contradict the bible just to test the faithful. Of course see my signature for my opinion on the entire matter.
