A visiting Aussie

Hi,
My husband and I are visiting San Francisco in May. He is spending a week at a conference then we have three weeks holiday. I was wondering if anyone had advice on things to do, how to travel around etc. We have been looking at hiring one of the smaller RVs and driving around. Or maybe flying somewhere, hiring an RV and driving back to San Francisco (I'm a little terrified of driving on the other side of the road). Any suggestions appreciated!

You could drive down Highway 1 (the Pacific Coast Highway) to Los Angeles -- much of the coastline is beautiful! Be sure to take a detour in Monterey-Carmel area for the 17 Mile Drive.
