  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A very specific question for evolutionists.

So John the Baptist was a Catholic?
He most certainly would have called himself a Jew.

If you think Jesus is a pacifist, then you don't know the book of Revelation. And if you think Jesus was a pacifist, no pacifist would admit that he is "one" with someone who killed the firstborn of every household that didn't have the blood of a lamb sprinkled on its door posts.
Did Jesus write the Book of Revelations? No. Did he, according to all four Gospels, preach pacifism? Yes.

did you ask this question seriously?
Yes I did.

You don't see the point I just made, and you confirmed, do you?

No one should be getting on my case about me "revelling in my ignorance" until they realize they revel in theirs as well.

I wasn't aware that John referred to himself as "the Baptist."

Nor was I aware that he was called this for any other reason aside from his tendancy to baptize people in local rivers.

Are you saying he was a part of a recognized Christian denomination, AV?
Here's a news-bite for you, Nathan --- Independent Fundamental Baptists are not a denomination --- they are called "churches".

QV a booklet called The Trail of Blood, by Dr. J. M. Carroll.

BTW, still waiting to find out what the sin of variance it, and why you refuse to tell theistic evolutionists that their beliefs are atheism based on spiritual anarchy (yes, I noticed you ignored that part....go figure)
This tells me you already know --- but for the sake of lurkers:

  • VARIANCE occurs when two Christians go head-to-head in a public forum, and is listed as a sin of the flesh.
    Galatians 5:20 said:
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Adam Clarke's Commentary said:
VARIANCE = Contentions, where the principle of hatred proceeds to open acts; hence contests, altercations, lawsuits, and disputes in general.
1 Corinthians 6:1 said:
Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

Fair enough then. So if you ask me any questions about it from now on, it's because you are a "liar"?
If I ask you a question, and you answer it, and moments later I misrepresent you on something that is not subjective, then yes, you can call me a liar. However My conclusions (such as the honesty of God via cleanup or temptation) may differ. Its one thing to discuss facts, its another to discuss the ramification o one who knows everything and is all powerful. One cannot take simple real world analogies like your car challenge and expect others to agree that god is equal in all respect to a car salesmen.

Jesus was called the same thing, so I'll just wear that badge too.
so you do get a kick out of being hated? careful if you think like that, it may effect your actions. Starting a conversation looking to be hated will likely be successful.

Good --- then you won't be calling me "programmed" or "brainwashed" anytime soon?I 100% disagree with that.
I think you got brainwashed, and saw a contradiction between the bible and science. You refuse to give up the bible and you have found a uneq way of trying to reconsile it.

When Jesus walked the earth, He backed up what He said with miracles, yet He was still rejected; not because of what He said, but because of Who He was; and He said the same thing would happen to us.
If you could back up what you said with evidence or truth, or miricles, I would agree with you. Activly trying to get others agitated and argumentitive so you can claim to have similarity with jesus is probably a poor choice of action.

When you back up what you say with miracles, then maybe we'll listen to you.
I doubt that very seriously. As I have pointed out, even when Jesus comes back and rules and reigns physically on the earth for 1000 years, people are still going to go to war against Him in one doosey of a final battle. Here's an excellent example from John:

Notice here --- God speaks clearly and audibly ---
John 12:28 said:
Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
Now notice the reaction from the crowd ---
John 12:29 said:
The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
Some say the Rapture will be explained away by some as an alien abduction.

He didn't say we wouldn't admit our ignorance, he said we aren't proud of it. You, by comparison, definitely are.
Says you.

It's not that I'm proud of my ignorance, it's that I'm honest about it.

Here are some more useless questions you can ask us to obfuscate more:

Is Pluto a planet or a dwarf?
Should I take thalidomide if I am pregnant or have leprocy?
Why is dark matter dark?
Does an ape give birth to a human or does a human give birth to an ape?
How many non-winged dinosaurs does it take to fill up an ark?
Not bad --- not bad.

I've never discussed dark matter, though - (that I can recall).

Did Jesus write the Book of Revelations? No.
Yes --- He wrote Revelation ---
Revelation 1:1-2 said:
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

Well, to be fair, IF we survived this long then natural selection might have purged us into a healthy inbred population, like Chillingham cattle are. (Not if every descendant of Adam and Eve was subject to some recessive disorder, though)

You'd expect some refference to it in the bible though? some remark about poo-throwing tribes or something :)

Show me where Variance applies only when two christains fight each other, because i think at the moment we are engaged in some variance with each other.

Yet when science makes that honesty one of its key concepts, you respond with ridicule.
I don't see you guys patting me on the back when I say I hold science up to a Higher Standard, or that God gifts us scientists, either. The only time I ridicule science is when it sticks its nose where it doesn't belong --- misinterpreting the Bible.

It doesn't --- in fact ---
Mark 10:35 said:
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
... because i think at the moment we are engaged in some variance with each other.

Er, but don't you engage in special pleading as to why science hasn't concluded the creation account? I.e. the whole "embedded age" thing, claiming that God "cleaned up" after the flood, etc?

Either you believe that the Earth should reveal the creation account as per your beliefs--in which case scientists have it wrong. Or you believe it shouldn't in which case you can't fault science for concluding what they conclude.

If you're talking about my Apple Challenge, I'm wondering why you can't give me a scientific conclusion as to why it is wrong - (despite the fact that I've given you a scientific reason as to why it is right). The Apple Challenge is your chance to shine, and impress me with your knowledge of science. Instead, you guys make fun of it, then wonder why I still think ex nihilo creation is viable.

I finally had to break down and give you guys the answer to it --- four times.

I notice that i have exactly 0 friends, the same amount of requests made for said friends here on the forums. I make no apologies for the truth, though if i am wrong Apologies if i hurt your feelings. Can you honestly say, that some of your repeated mantras are not intended to offend?

like

evolution is just a theory
and
I hold science to a higher standard

These are intentionally divisive and you know it.
