I agree that we should not chase miracles - Jesus told us that in the end times people who look for signs will only receive the sign of Jonah - that is pretty clearly utter darkness! Rather if we seek good life we should sow the truth of the Word into our hearts and live by them. Love comes about when we love, not otherwise, the same counts for all good.
However be warned such counts for bad as well. When we sow lies then we will reap regret, hopelessness, sadness, despair, fear and such kind of inner misery. Or like with arrogance, greed, dishonesty, envy, lust, hate and all loveless (burning and demanding) realities dwelling within us, the more we have life in it, the worse it gets, unless we repent from being bad life and finding newness of life in Him. Where what is crooked is made straight and what was wrong becomes right. His loving truth at work inside our hearts, an amazing demonstration of divine salvation at work in our hearts. Where we can learn to be right instead of wrong.
Fighting depression is very much about making choices. If we stick to The truth of the Word then bad life attacking can't seem to overcome us. While all we have to do is await our good life growing stronger. What you will find when you walk in His truth, that in one we are taken up and in one we are left behind - the sheep separated from the goats - each time again!
So simple let the truth of God take you up - one at the time, until you in all your inner being have arrived in His good life. To refine your silver and gold you have to get rid of the dross, so the fire is turned up to red hot! It is best to understand that fighting depression is a life changing experience, where your faith in God is tested to the max and you have to learn to disregard your feelings and listen to the truth of the word instead.
Blessed are those who wait on The Lord, for the Word says "Behold I'm Coming Soon," and The Word doesn't lie, for in The Truth is no lie!
Let us seek Him with all of our hearts, so that united as one we may love, serve and know Him.
