a Titanic mistake......

It was said when the Titanic struck the iceberg that most of the lifeboats slipped away from the doomed and dying ship almost totally empty, because most simply saw no danger.... just an ever so slight list to one side. Nothing to panic over, right?

The band played on, all seemed safe, but sudden destruction was soon to come their way. They presumed that there was safety in numbers, and it looked far less "comfortable" and more "inconvenient" to clamor into small open lifeboats that to stay with the mother ship where all could continue on as it always had done throughout their voyage. Everyone said "peace and safety" yet that was not what the night held for them. Saying it changed nothing. Being assured of it by others changed nothing. To stay where they were was a death sentence.

There is a lesson hidden there. Jesus said:

"How can you believe, which receive honor one of another, and do not seek for that honor which comes from God alone?"

The answer is..... you can't.

I pray that none here seek the solace of others and the comfort that they will try to give you. On the last day it will be just you and the Lord....and the books will be opened. May we have boldness on that day, knowing......KNOWING that we will hear that blessed "Well done, thou good and faithful servant". How can we be assured of such a thing? We will have walked as good and faithful servants, having put off our old sinful nature, and having put on our new man, the one that can indeed walk in holiness and righteousness before Him ALL the days of our lives.

Anything less is a Titanic mistake.

Blessings

Yeah, the Titanic had people thinking to themselves right up until the first waves rolled across the bow...."Peace and safety."

The wicked ancient world had 120 years to repent right up until the first drops of rain began to fall...."Noah, you're a crazy kook."

The Tower of Babel grew so large that it took three full days to travel around its base right up until God struck it and its builders down...

What do people say today? "Where is the promise of His coming?" But when the Son of Man returns, will He find faith on the earth?

Amen, brother. I have been assured by God however that He will find faith on the earth. No easy believism, no one-time-prayer-gets-me-into-Heaven type of faith, but the walk-on-water, you-can-keep-me-from sinking kind of faith. For what is coming, we will need it.... and we can take great comfort that He will, by His grace, provide it.

Many now in the highways and byways, many down-and-outers who would never be seen in our sanctuaries are about to hear exceedingly wonderful news. But those concerned with their new ox that needs breaking will find faith too far down on their bucket list to believe with their whole hearts.

We are about to see, with our own eyes, the first becoming last and the last becoming first.

Glad to see you posting. You are always a blessing to me.

Yes Gideon, we all say these wonderful words, and I walk in faith, but as I walk I see so many who say these things, but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty you will know them by their fruit. Don't see much fruit these days.

Sadly, I have to agree, but it begins not with determining to bear good fruit....that is the job of the Spirit in us. Our job is to make our tree good, and we do that by agreeing with God and putting off the old nature and putting on the new. Only then will we see long dormant buds truly begin to swell and fruits begin to grow within us, and we will be more surprised than any.

I hope the Lord finds you well brother. You have been in my prayers.

Blessings,

Gideon
