Non-Catholics debating in OBOB. Humorous.
LOL! This is the second time I've seen this happen. The first time was with Rhamiel's end times question, how common is this?

I would remind all posting here that this board is OBOB - One Bread, One Body - Catholic

All posting here should read the SOP Statement of Faith - OBOB Statement of Purpose before posting here, if they are not Catholic.

This Board is a non-debate board - and I would ask all posters to be very careful about adhering to this.

Exceptionally so! And the interesting thing is that they are blissfully not being anti-Catholic at all. Should we just let it continue for a while? Sneak in a reference from the Catechism? Sign them up for RCIA?

Aw, and we were just beginning to see the humor of it all before you chased them all away. ;-)

Okay, I've been doing some researching on this, it appears I was mostly right. At least selling things on Sunday and holy days of obligation during special events is acceptable, so I assume buying things is as well. In regards to buying food, purchasing things at restaurant is acceptable, buy groceries generally is not, I assume, buying something for a quick snack while traveling is okay.

This video, while not catechetical, and somewhat off topic, helps explain things a bit. For anyone who is interested, skip ahead to ahead 8:25 for the specific of the 3rd Commandment:

I have also found some interesting articles on keeping the Lord's Day Holy. if I have time tomorrow, I'm going to take a look at these articles, and see if there is anything I can put into practice in my life right now, to keep the Lord's Day Holy.

If you're seeking the RCC's teaching on something would not the CCC be the appropriate place to look for answers? Honestly though, of all the things I recall being told were sinful, I don't remember anything about buying or selling on Sunday.

Besides, someone had to buy the donuts they served after mass. ;)

I have a question about buying and selling on Sundays, buying food, and buying things from a special fair on Sunday are exceptions to the Third Command correct? Because I might have done both of these things in the past, albeit, without realizing them.

Surely mark 2:23-27 explains this.

Indeed a Saturday vigil mass is for those who would struggle because of commitments.

To quote Matthew Kelly when talking about what's wrong with the mass: "When did you start brewing that coffee anyway? Wednesday?" Um, maybe......and we picked up the donuts Friday afternoon.
