I've had a look at it again from first principles, Chi_cygni posted a textbook example of solving a differential equation of the type that was produced by considering the problem pseudo-statically. In the end I stopped before having to seperate the variables to solve the first-order differential equation that occurs in Chi_Cyni's method as I realized that I was simply folllowing the steps that Chi_Cygni posted.

So therefore I say: nice one Chi _Cygni!

Just the trivial stuff then!!! Do you have any ideas about the rumour that Hawking is going to declare the BH information paradox solved (in my naivety I assumed that string theory had solved this problem, but I've been told by those far more knowledable than me that this is not the case ) this month?

Check out the March 1st issue of Nuclear Physics B.

Samir Mathur (a friend of mine - also his wife is a friend) at Ohio-State solved the paradox - well at least in the eyes of many.

I think Hawking (my former advisor) is willing to concede this, finally. At least thats the rumour.
