Huh... I know in genesis 27 there is talk of meat...
(Genesis 27:31)
Genesis 27: 4)
..etc
It doesnt seem that its sinful to me.[/QUOTE.
Its not, but EGW taught it was while she ate meat herself.
Im still more of a fish eater.
(Not because i believe meat is sinful)
I'm thankful my God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and he feeds me one burger at a time.
You went longer then Daniel in Daniel 10:2-3

Exactly...
... I wasnt aware of this whole meat/veggie thing until a friend of mine read in egw about vegetarianism and started promoting it... somehow critisizing meat eaters... thats where I got more interested in the topic...
Just sharing some more of my thoughts here. I was a vegetarian for only 3 months, about 3 years ago. It was because of a v. popular book that was called "The Blood type Diet". Probably many have heard that title. Thankfully, though, the diet didn't last long, but even so, I was still protein/saturated fat deficient.
For me, I guess it was a combination of just not liking meat, together with being brainwashed by media that meat was unhealthy for you. My diet was instead very high in carbs. So for me, there weren't any spiritual factors involved at all, nor did I know that any existed at the time !
I think also, that whether we know it or not, society has been indoctrinating into us to not only worship the earth, but animals, too. I think that can be part of the reason for the rise in vegetarianism. I know of a person who had the same autoimmune illness that I had (adrenal/chronic fatigue) ,that had a very hard time accepting the killing of animals for food. In fact she rejected the Bible for the fact that God allowed animal sacrifices. She questioned me at one time ' how could a God of Love allow animals to be sacrificed and killeded? So, it was very hard for her to start eating more meat. But she did after learning more about the importance of it and how it was connected to her health through studies on the subject.
Here's another article to chew onon the physical aspects of what a vegetarian diet can do..

Thanx for the Daniel reference JD
There are some really great ministers in the faith who are making it a point to include some reference to vegetarianism in every sermon they do. So much so that they are being deceptive in what they are saying.... eg: Veith said that the locusts that John the Baptist ate was the fruit off the locust tree!?! Darrio Taylor stated the same saying that John was a vegetarian...
These men are trying to interject this doctrine into the Word when it is not there... I pray that they repent of this error. Although sister White did say that many who are considered 'stars' within our denomination will depart from the faith.
Hey ECR! Great to see that you have become more critical towards the things that are being taught in the SDA.
As far as the locusts are concerned, it actually originated with EGW
His diet, purely vegetable, of 'locusts and wild honey’ was a rebuke to the indulgence of appetite and the gluttony that everywhere prevailed." (Testimonies 3, p. 62)
It is actually egw who is being deceptive with w. veith just repeating what he has read in the source material...
It looks like there is a disagreement about what the locusts really were.. Apparently, some believe it was the Locust (carob) tree he was eating of, and not bugs!
Did John the Baptist eat bugs? | Seek Theos
Matthew 3:4 John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
Mark 1:6 John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
Leviticus 11:2 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying, `These [are] the animals which you may eat among all the animals that [are] on the earth: 3 `Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves [and] chewing the cud--that you may eat. 4 `Nevertheless these you shall not eat among those that chew the cud or those that have cloven hooves: the camel, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is unclean to you; 5 `the rock hyrax, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, [is] unclean to you; 6 `the hare, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, [is] unclean to you; 7 `and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, [is] unclean to you. 8 `Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They [are] unclean to you. 9 `These you may eat of all that [are] in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers--that you may eat. 10 `But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which [is] in the water, they [are] an abomination to you. 11 `They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. 12 `Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales--that [shall] [be] an abomination to you. 13 `And these you shall regard as an abomination among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they [are] an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard, 14 `the kite, and the falcon after its kind; 15 `every raven after its kind, 16 `the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after its kind; 17 `the little owl, the fisher owl, and the screech owl; 18 `the white owl, the jackdaw, and the carrion vulture; 19 `the stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat. 20 `All flying insects that creep on [all] fours [shall] [be] an abomination to you. 21 `Yet these you may eat of every flying insect that creeps on [all] fours: those which have jointed legs above their feet with which to leap on the earth. 22 `These you may eat: the locust after its kind, the destroying locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind. 23 `But all [other] flying insects which have four feet [shall] [be] an abomination to you.
So what plant grows honey? Honey is no more a vegetable then eggs. The locust in the original text is flying grasshoppers. EGW made claims that aren't true. So have I. Where in the bible does it say John the baptist ate any vegetables? I'm not saying he didn't eat vegetables, but don't make claims the bible can't back up.
