Does positive racism necessarily imply negative racism?

Haha, I totally just answered this in that other thread :p

At the risk of repeating myself, I don't really believe in positive discrimination. Any grouping of people on the grounds of racial identity is risky. If you can group black men together as being awesome dancers, you can also group them together as being thugs or wife-beaters. Of course there's nothing wrong with pointing out cultural differences, which often correlate with racial groupings, but it's important to realise that there is nothing that has been conclusively shown to be inherently different about the behaviour of people of different races.

Yes, it does.

To have any preference in the aid that you give is to overlook others who are potentially more needy.

And to discriminate sets a bad standard amongst people... It prioritizes them, and prioritizing is recognizing racial differences to the extent taht they begin to overshadow people as individuals.

Wicked good question.

I dont really understand the concept of positive discrimination and I dont get how you can HAVE positive discrimination. To me that seems like saying you have a square wheel, its an oxymoron and makes no sense

Agreed.

What I am referring to is the difference between singling out a particular group as inferiour (negative statement) and singling out a particular group as superiour (positive statement).
like all Jews are good at handling money
or blacks can dance and such?

to me it still implies:
if you're not Jewish you're NOT good with money
and if you're not black you CAN'T dance

it just WIDENS the pool being labeled as incapable or less IMO

...or a certain people being god´s chosen people, a certain nation being god´s own country, or a certain race being supreme.

Yes, that´s what it comes down to imo, too.
