Yes, this does occasionally happen in the RC, although I've never witnessed it. I remember an Episcopalian Choir director once stated that this practice of dipping occurs often. Excuse me, I forgot what it is officially called.....

Generally speaking, doesn't the host have to be immediately consumed? (Especially, the ones who profess the real presence: Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran other...etc?)
