You are starting out right. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. Fear God, because he is the one who can send you to hell. The voices are demons. Pray that God have mercy on you. Seek the Lord with all your heart and soul. If there is any sin that you are doing, if possible without help, stop. If it's something that you need help with, seek help. The demons are looking for an open door to enter in. Stop the sin and close the door.
I totally disagree. Love casts out all fear, so how can you both love and fear God? My parents disciplined me when I did something wrong, and I didn't sass them, never called them by their first name out of respect, fear as in revere, but I was never afraid of them. My parents never demanded that I love them, but I loved them because they fed me, they clothed and housed me, they comforted me when I was scared or crying. They didn't give me an ultamatum: love us back, or we drop you off on the bad side of town night, if w
we don't kill you first for looking at us sideways. And what did I do to deserve their love? I was born.
And if that is my human parents, wouldn't your heavenly Father being even more loving, merciful, want you with him, want you to have a life full of joy, rather than fear?
So, now that you have salvation you can never lose, the most demons can do to you is make you fear that maybe your prayer of salvation "didn't take." Maybe God didn't hear you. Maybe when you die, God will judge you for some sin, maybe even a minor one, say, "rules are rules" and send you away anyway because you weren't good enough.
Sound familiar? Sadly, it won't just be demons shaking your confidence, but some Christians. You'll read stuff, like people trying to convince you you can lose your salvation, usually by sinning, implying that they themselves don't sin (lie #1) or when the do sin, it's not intentional (lie #2). Yes, that's right - accidentally sinning. Hey, wait! You're not my husband. I didn't mean to gossip. I got revenge by keying his car, but it wasn't my fault.I was just angry. It's like that video where the mom is asking her son if he ate cookies after she told him no.
Then I hear, "In the end days, it will be like in the Days of Noah. And God only spared Noah his family, so..
So, what? God loved the world, and sent Jesus, who only managed to save about 8 people. Epic Fail, Jesus.
But once you see beyond the lies, you realize they are hollow words. Might as well say you have blue hair. Doesn't make it true.
I once had a Christian, convinced I wasn't saved, say,"Well, when you face God at Judgement, and he says, "Why should I let you into heaven," how will u answer???
I said, "You shouldn't, Father" and bow and smile as a way of acknowledging his mercy and grace.
There was a time in my life when I tried several times to end my own life because cruel Christians quoted scripture like Lucifer to convince me that God hated me and wished I was dead, and since I couldn't be executed under US Law, should help him out.
Those people, those are the ones that should worry about salvation, and facing to explain why they dared to convince someone of God's towards them, and misuse the Bible to do it.
They are all lies. Ask the HS. He'll back me up on this, and answer you.
The question was just coming from an obvious Calvinistic worldview so I answered it in a way that gave my very brief opinion on the belief structure while still answering the OP's question without saying whether I quite agreed with that worldview or not as that is not relevant to the post.
