  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A praise...

I just want to share with everyone how the Lord has answered one of my prayers. Recently, I haven't been going regularly to church, and the main reason was, I couldn't stand my church. It was cold (not temperature-wise) and unwelcoming. I've gone there for nearly 5 years and I still have people ask me if I'm visiting. I'm trying to be a good Christian and be kind but frankly this just ticks me off.

Anyway, I tried a new church today and I feel like God is calling me to go to this one. It was wonderful. I was welcomed by 3 different people before I even stepped foot inside and from there about 15 more people joined in. Not only do they make you feel welcome, but they are VERY involved in the community, Bible studies, and mission trips...which the other church wasn't as much. Over the past couple months my life has taken a sharp turn and has headed back to the Lord and I am very thankful for this and I wanted a church where it would be easier to get involved. I prayed about it and what do you know..I found the church!

So yes, this is just a praise to God and I wanted to share. :D

God " IS" alive .... and it is wonderful to hear this praise report. :amen: :groupray:

for some reason I am reminded to say [ probably so that I don't loose focus ] that all of us need to remember that we go to church... not for what we "get"... but for what we can give.

God bless you on your walk with " Him"

Wonderful to hear! ^_^ Praise God!

I was lucky that my church very quickly welcomed me into the family and is very active with eachother. I do wish we had some more things like a Bible study, though..especially one after church on Sabbath would be great!

Alas, my problem lays in the fact I can't attend church. But at least I have a good one when I'm able. ;)

Glad you can experience that kind of involvement!

God bless!

Sarah

Alot of people just go to church to socialize. When we go to church we need to worship God. I use to find myself socializing alot at church instead of worchiping. But now I Just try worship him. Something else is when we are socializing at church we should be talking about God and the things he has done for us. I find myself talking about football games and stuff like that.
