It is easy. Just do not put any negative property in the definition.

For example, God is omnipotent, AND honest. This will rule out the property called lie. So you don't have to say God can not lie, but say God is honest. Logically, it makes a 180° turn on the argument.

[I wonder why can't you figure out this simple alternative]

Basically, god could lie, but wouldn't lie? Why didn't you just say that from the beginning? How many pages were wasted on that argument?

Oh it does? Can you tell me which book and which chapter, that will be useful later.

Titus 1:2 KJV: In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Titus 1:2 KJV: In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Nice, no twisting those words, it directly states god cannot lie.

But is there any place in the bible that says god is omnipotent, really?

I don't know. But if God can create everything that we know exists, that would be a pretty good sign he was.

God can't lie, period! It is not in His Nature to lie! Who is the Father of Lies? Satan! It is HIS nature to lie!

God is all powerful, perfect, without blemish, majestic, beautiful, loving, kind, gentle, just, He is just one hundred percent PERFECT!!!

Can a horse fly? No it can't. Why? Becuase it is not in it's nature to fly!

Birds fly, it is their nature to fly!

Revelation 19:6

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

And if you've been keeping up with the last 20 pages or so, this would mean he is not omnipotent.

And if you have been keeping up with the pages, you would have seen my previous posts on this definition of God.

He is omnipotent, all powerful Almighty God!

Reread my posts, or I think it's just a concept that some people can't grasp.

If it's hard to grasp the fact that He exists, how could they even get close to understanding His character???!!

Quite a few, actually. Here are some:

Luke 1:37 kjv - For with God nothing shall be impossible

Job 42:2 - I know that thou canst do every [thing], and [that] no thought can be withholden from thee.

Revelation 19:6 - And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Education.

Education. So you are saying their education is not high enough? Do you have a higher education that a science in geology or paleontology or a Ph.D or a Masters in Biblical Studies has?

I certianly don't and I would assume that you do not either.

I've often wondered - If the Devil is "The Deceiver" and as I've so often heard "God is evident in his creation"...

How are we to know that the Devil didn't write the Bible by whispering in the ears of the inspired?

With this in mind, would it not make more sense to believe in what the Nature of God's creation tells us?

Just a question that often strikes me when people so vehemently defend the literal word.

I remember an old Twilight Zone or Outer Limits (Don't remember which) where a nutcase preacher was claiming that Scripture cannot be trusted because the written word was the Devil's domain. It was only the spoken traditions that were reliable.

That is all I recall clearly, it was longer ago than many here have been alive. Based on experience more than memory I'm pretty sure that it turned out (in the story) that the nutcase was right.

Yeah, that was a low blow, attempting to suggest religious individuals are uneducated. Then again, there was someone who asked "if we came from monkeys, then why aren't we born monkeys, and why can't we speak monkey?" Made me do a face-smack in real life.

The question is what did the original text say and how would those words have been understood by a speaker of that language.

My bet is they mean something rather different than the modern definition of omnipotent.

Still good finds, far better than most could do.
