These prophecies were translated into Greek in the Third Century BC.

In the New Testament Jesus quoted from these 39 Old Testament books.

For Him to have quoted from these books, they would have been written already.

Did you know many prophecies pertain to the Nation of Isreal? The fact that they will be persecuted and live in fear? Israel is the Jews. Haven't they been persecuted, haven't Nations rose against them over and over again to try to destroy them? Germany? Russia? Iraq? Egypt? Etc.

You have your criteria in choosing to accept something and others have theirs. In regards to the bible, your criteria would seem to be a much lower level of verification is required, as opposed to say the evidence found in science. You accept the bible, as is (written 2000 years ago), yet can not accept science, that has real objective evidence to support what it claims.

That is your choice and you are welcome to it. I on the other hand, want my level of skepticism to be equal on both fronts, in the hope that I will find what is likely to be true.

The most well known christian apologist/debater out there is likely William Lane Craig and he is in fact an excellent debater.

I have seen about 10 of his debates and his themes are usually almost identical in each debate. When he is attempting to defend the existence of God, the resurrection or the truthfulness of christianity, I have yet to see him use prophecies as evidence to support his claims.

There is a reason he doesn't, because he knows they have been explained away and he would look like a fool if he attempted to use them in his argument.

Put simply, the point is that education equips you, or should equip you, with the tools necessary to think critically and spot the difference between sense and nonsense. This is why creationism is inversely correlated with education level.
