Technically...the term dust of the earth refers to the elements of the earth. The chemical composition.

Here is an example of some of what the body consists of...Many are only trace minerals.

The ratio of those that a human body needs isn't found in dirt.

The Fallacy of the Germ Theory of Disease.

If the presence of highly radioactive elements in the above list was not enough to warn somebody that they were reading quackery, a chapter title like that should have been enough.

Yeah, why was Europium there? And Fluorine isn't spelled right.

I Googled some of the more obscure elements. Ones that are not normally associated with the human body, and was surprised to see its a part of our body content.
And here is a more specific reference: The Chemistry and Wonders of the Human Body - George W. Carey - Google Books

.

I seriously doubt if radium is a "trace element". It may be a trace contaminant but it is not what would be called a trace element today. It is not needed by the human body. Also that source is extremely dated. I mean really "Glucinum?

If you are going to argue a point try not to use a totally outdated source.

How dated must this source be? I have seen periodic tables over a decade old and I don't recognize some of these...

Not when its on a trace level. I did say some are trace.... And, I gave a second list (link) to what are mostly looked for in the human body.

That is why I gave the link to a list more specific to the human body. The point was...

The body is made up of the elements of the soil. So, Moses was a scientists with a lab? Specifically stated as... elements of the earth. How did he know?

You gave a list dating from 1921. You do realize that we have discovered and created more elements since then, right? And that names have been changed, in fact I don't know some of those on that list might not be in the human body but I'm not sure because whatever they are they aren't called that anymore.

Keep distracting away from the main point?

The human body is made up of the elements of the soil. Moses was not a scientists with a lab. He could not know specifics. The human body was specifically stated as... being made from the elements of the earth. How did he know?

Mind addressing the point for a change?

The idea of "elements" has existed for a very long time. Earth/stone used to be considered a single element. Water was once considered an element, so was fire, air, and other things.

The article was prefaced with the following:

The mass of the earth (and the atmosphere) is at present assumed to be composed of certain elementary or indivisible substances, and of combinations of these substances. The number of elements now recognized by chemists is eighty-three. The names of these elements, with the symbols that are used for convenience and brevity in expressing the combinations into which they unite, are given in the table: —

You mind really knows how to wander...:)

How did he know it was made from elements the soil? When the human body decomposes there was no way for an ancient to know what the contents consisted of. He could have said it was the substance of the gods, or something more mystical. But, the Holy Spirit told Moses specifics. I don't wonder why. You? You are probably wondering how to avoid addressing the real issue here. I'm sure you will be inspired to avoid it again. Even though you do not believe in spirits.

That is more than 20 elements short of what we have today.

They might find 5 more in 2017. So what.

Stop making that suggestion, my mind is prone to wandering thanks to ADHD, not outside influence. And considering that when a human body rots away it becomes a pile of oozing smelly compost, it isn't much of a stretch to think that a person is made of the same stuff as dirt. I commend Moses for the observation, but other than that I am not particularly impressed.

Its interesting to observe that you know how to stay on subject when its working in your favor.

Really? How convenient.

Of course you're not. You're determined.

I don't always stay on topic when it is in my favor, I guess you never have noticed that? It gets worse as my medication wears off.

I don't personally see how that observation Moses made makes godly influence necessary.
