  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hmmm..i really cant decide.

if you asked me this question after i had only joey and luke i would have said all boys because i grew up with 2 brothers and didnt know what it was like to have sisters. i have never been a girly girl either and hung out with mostly boys. also i never got along with my mother. but now that i have anna i love having a girl/

Glad this is hypothetical because I have one of each at this stage.

If I had to choose what gender I would choose boys.

Mainly because as much as I love my little daughter she drives me up the wall. She is always into everything, is fussy about her clothes, won't go to the toilet if it is even slightly "yucky" and "yucky" could mean a little bit of water on the floor, or toilet paper on the floor (rolls eyes) She can be wonderful but she is definitely the one that challenges me. I think I have come to realise that she is basically a 3 year old version of myself ROFL. That is why we butt heads. I have always been "girly" so I am surprised at how much I struggle with my daughter.

Yummy mummy - it is my daughter that has had a broken leg and a burned arm. Everything else I took ds to hospital for (except when he hurt his leg at school, which all that required was a support bandage for 3 days lol) turned out to be false alarm.

My son sure isn't perfect all the time, but there seems to be much less drama with him.

The main thing I would miss not having a daughter is buying little dresses and outfits and putting her hair up in pigtails and what not. As for everything else....... (ROFL)

I would struggle if I could only have one

But I would choose girls for mainly selfish reasons... first, the clothes are so much more fun. I love to dress my little daughter while she still lets me... cute little dresses and the most awesome shoes! Second I think there is something special about a daughter-mommy relationship, especially in adulthood when the daughter becomes a mother herself.

ROFL. Yes I love that part about having a girl. The clothes are so much nicer, and yes the shoes are cuter too. I really love playing with my daughters hair now that she has enough to do some pigtails with. I am waiting for it to be long enough to do some braids.
