a poem. simple and rather stupid but i had to write it for my english class and since it's the only thing i've written lately i thought i'd share it. i had to condense Shakespeare's Hamlet into the main events and then write a poem that had rythme and rhyme in it. i had one night to complete it and well, to make a long story short, i didn't do it and had to write the whole thing during the class period's before my english class (i don't suggest you do that. bad idea) :D ok, so here it is, the condensed form of Hamlet.

Long ago,
    In the land of Denmark,
A tale of Hamlet
    One must hark.
The story begins
    With a frightful tale,
Of treachery,
    Murder behind the veil.

Hamlet then,
    Full of grief,
A ghost,
    His father,he does speak.
His father
    Doth Hamlet command
To lead
    The traitor to the stand.

Hamlet now,
    So full of dread,
His mother
    Married to an incestuous bed.
Hamlet though
    Afraid to act
Decides to
    Take another track.

A play
    He has a clown perform
To catch
    His uncle's guilt and scorn.
Claudius to
    The play reacts
But Hamlet
    Is still afraid to act.

Hamlet,
    His revenge does seek,
But tragedy
    In the end doth meet.
Death
    Of friends and family,
All met
    The end similarly.

Hamlet
    In the end does die.
Death
    Around him, bodies lie.
Fortinbras
    The room does enter
Seeing
    Death in its center.

Horatio
    To he inquired
Of what
    Had then transpired.
Horatio
    Of story told
Though
His stance was not so bold.

Fortinbras
    Gave Hamlet brave,
A funeral,
    Hamlet's honor saved.
Of
    The tale, now it ends.
Of
    Deeds and honor, glory mends.

In The Blood Of The Future

Night sweeps low in the dark blue sky
the fear of infinity gleams in your eye
It calls to the wild
Makes your hair stand on end
They say they love you
but use the term loosely
They're not even a friend
breeze calms animals, plants, and leaves
breeze is the essence which calls upon trees
this sound all around you,
you fear no longer
anger is all that's left
your power grows stronger
your heart starts to race
as you think of your past
you scream, mouth wide open
as if it's your last
the day nearly runs away
time seems to lap hours
the call of the wild
is close to being ours
yet advanced we may seem
it takes only one little gleam
of fear in the heart
and liers to take part
in this unlawful game
called insensitive shame
it's all in our blood now
there is no escape
but from what do we run
asleep and awake
the heritage brought it on
our ancestors had it
it makes us but a pawn
too bad we can't face it
it charges the adrenalin
pumps the heart
it followed us all the way
to this part of the chart
maybe we can ignore it
maybe we can shake it
maybe we can pass by it.
but for sure we can't take it.
And so one must die
to bring all to life
the one who sufers lies
for that which is right
and in all and all
riteousness must be fulfilled
and so the grips of satan dropped all
when Jesus was killed.
