a PM from my sister

I had an odd dream last night. In the dream, I logged on to CF. I noticed that I had two private messages. They were from two members whose names I cannot remember, and I could not remember what they wrote, only to know that the messages wre related to some of my recent posts. Then I awoke.

I soon fell asleep again, and the dream restarted. But instead of two PM's, I now had four. There were the original two, but now two more. I noticed something else odd. The second message had the same subject as the second message in my dream, but instead of it being from some unknown CF member, it was from my sister. I read through these two messages. The text of the first was identical towhat was in the same message ealier in the dream, as was the text of the second. However, I was extremely confused as to why my sister would be sending it, or why she would send me a private message at all.

That is when I awoke for the final time.

Please help! This is confusing!

Certainly, scripture is clear that God can speak to us in our dreams. One need only look at Jacob, Joseph, Daniel, Peter, and Paul for such examples. The tricky part is trying to interpret them. Sometimes, the dream is very clear as to its meaning. As in the incident in Genesis where King Abimelech is visited by God in his dream:

Gen 20:2 he said that his wife Sarah was his sister. So King Abimelech of Gerar had Sarah brought to him.
Gen 20:3 One night God appeared to him in a dream and said, "You are going to die, because you have taken this woman; she is already married."
Gen 20:4 But Abimelech had not come near her, and he said, "Lord, I am innocent! Would you destroy me and my people?
Gen 20:5 Abraham himself said that she was his sister, and she said the same thing. I did this with a clear conscience, and I have done no wrong."
Gen 20:6 God replied in the dream, "Yes, I know that you did it with a clear conscience; so I kept you from sinning against me and did not let you touch her.
Gen 20:7 But now, give the woman back to her husband. He is a prophet, and he will pray for you, so that you will not die. But if you do not give her back, I warn you that you are going to die, you and all your people."

Or with this one that Paul had:

Act 16:9 That night Paul had a vision in which he saw a Macedonian standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us!"
Act 16:10 As soon as Paul had this vision, we got ready to leave for Macedonia, because we decided that God had called us to preach the Good News to the people there.


However, most times the dreams are symbolic, and difficult to figure out; which yours seems to be. The dreams that Pharaoh had in Genesis; or the dream that Nebuchadnezzar had in Daniel; fit this category. The thing to remember is this, if it is from God, He will supply an interpretation. Ask Him if the dream is from Him, and then ask for an interpretation.

Gen 41:15 The king said to him, "I have had a dream, and no one can explain it. I have been told that you can interpret dreams."
Gen 41:16 Joseph answered, "I cannot, Your Majesty, but God will give a favorable interpretation."

Sometimes, God gives us the interpretation, and other times He gives someone else the interpretation; as He did with Joseph for Pharaoh. When Peter had the vision of eating the unclean animals, God gave him the interpretation of the vision. The fact that you had the dream twice, is significant, as Joseph indicated to Pharaoh:

Gen 41:32 The repetition of your dream means that the matter is fixed by God and that he will make it happen in the near future.

Be at peace, Petrarch. Ask God what the significance of the dream is. Ask in faith, believing that He will answer. He will show you why He gave you the dream. Trust in Him. It is a wonderful thing when God reaches out and touches us in such a personal way. It is an expression of His love towards us. I will be interested in hearing what He says to you.

hmm well it doesn't necessarily mean anything special. For example, I often dream about things that I did right before i went to sleep. That could be similar to your case.
