I can not blame you, and I will pray for your child. I get into politics, not so much for me, I am old enough, that what ever happens, happens, but my son, and his new bride, deserve a World were freedom remains, constant and deserving. To many have paid the ultimate sacrifice. I just hope this World gets better for all involved.

Nice and light is what I need, I have become so involved with politics as of late that I feel almost run down. I am glad I am not in politics to make a living, it isn't a very good way to live your life, at least as far as I am concerned. JC Watts, a young Congressman from I believe Iowa. He was an up and coming new political force in the Republican Party. He made a decision to put his family first and in 2004 he retired from Congress. That is where it is at, God and family.

JC Watts served my home State of Oklahoma. I sure did like him, but we still have good representatives. JC Watts was liked because he told the truth and tried to represent the people. Politics is a rough job for honest people trying to put God first.

I just wanted to wish everyone on this special Site, Golden Eagles 50+, a safe and Happy Memorial Day. Here in Indiana, as you know, we have the Indy 500, have been there a couple of times, in the 60's, and it was alright, if you like big crowds.
Also I wanted to remember all who have bravely sacrificed, to give our Country Freedom and Liberty, and to be able to worship God as we see fit.
Not to many people in this crazy World have anywhere near the freedoms we have in this Country.
With out God, the United States would have never flourished, many would tell you our Founding Fathers were Deists, and didn't really prescribe to a Higher Power. If you read the Declaration, or the Constitution, you will find that is simply not true.
God, most definitely had a role in inspiring those men to act in the interest of mankind for Generations to come. And we are much better for there actions today. :amen:

I do give thanks daily to live in a part of the world where Christians can still worship God in peace and safety. This is always a reminder to pray for Christians around the world who live in fear and suffer persecution, imprisonment, and death for simply being Christians. We also have the freedom to share the Gospel of the Grace of God with others, and this is a precious freedom. These are all things we should never take for granted because they can be lost. It's really just another reminder to count our blessings daily and give thanks. God gave us brave men and women in many countries who gave even their lives to secure and preserve these freedoms, so I give thanks for all of them. This always reminds me of one of my favorite portions of Scripture:

John 15:12-13 KJV This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Jesus Christ dying for our sins always comes first on the list of thanks. Wherever you live, enjoy your freedoms and give thanks for those who paid for them.

Hi everyone I joined yesterday so i am a real newbie I am also a new Christian and will soon be getting baptised. I posted my intro on the newbie section and have had a couple of replies of lovely welcome. I am 54yrs but I feel much younger I was brought up in the Jehovah's witness faith. My hubby was introduced to the witnesses at work by a colleague when he was 19 he later got baptised . We met at a Kingdom hall (their church). Debby
