And they are feeling the boot.
They aren't getting paid! Nothing changes if they post as non-mods, except a small loss of "internet forum power".

The point is, we are all the same. Things need to be shaken up, and only the people who have something to lose get upset about it.

Brothers and Sisters....

I came to Christian Forums just a few short months ago. There are still many areas of CF that I haven't visited. There are many nuances I haven't explored and much I do not know or understand of the workings of CF. I do not write the following words from a heart that has any CF agenda.

I do write from a heart of grief.... I've spent about a half hour reading Erwin's original post as well as flipping through pages of the posts that have followed. There is no way to read through every one.

Today is my birthday. I have experienced an incredible outpouring of love from my brothers and sisters on this forum. If it had not been for what I've experienced here, I really wouldn't have had much of a birthday. It's been amazing. So, I flip over to see what Erwin has envisioned for CF and what I read is backbiting and jealousy and distrust and murmuring.... we are the Christians who are to be salt and light????? If I were an unbeliever who had stumbled onto this thread I would run for the hills based on the display of emotion one against another in a forum where we are to love one another. I would say we have proven atheistic skeptics correct in their assumptions we are no different than the world....shame on us!!!!

When I first read Erwin's post, I was skeptical as to whether a new "open" forum could possibly work. Not because I feel I need to be protected. But because I fear that just what has happened in this thread will continue and nonbelievers who come for the answers to their questions might be rebuffed and never come into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Christ never intended for our churches, our houses of worship, our "Christian Forums" to be an escape route. If you're looking for peace and safety, Christianity isn't for you. We are to be a hospital for the sick. The last stop before someone spends an eternity in hell. And, as it pertains to believers, a place where we greet one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs as we live out our faith before a lost and dying world.

Erwin, I will continue in my support of CF. Brothers and Sisters, I love you and pray God will fill you with His conviction and a refreshed love one for another and for those He intends to bring to us for His purposes and glory!!!

An awesome and truly wise post!

I think its a great Idea to have open forums but the only way I can see them not degenerating into disputes is the following........

Op posts question

a,b & c reply to Op

a,b & c can no longer reply unless to the Op original question or if the Op replies to there post

So a can't reply to b, b can't reply to c, and c can't reply to a.

But you are NOT fired. Is that so hard to understand? You are still a mod now, and you can run again.

You know you guys gotta stop this whole "you can't understand unless you are on staff" stuff.... this is the very reason why I did not apply for staff although I got a PM asking me to do so.... I just couldn't join this kind of team. Its yucky.
Yes we are being dismissed. Erwin made it clear that all staff is going to be voted on by the membership. That was clear. So it doesn't happen today it is happening.

I have no idea but I know that I will now become a site supporter!

I was thinking the same thing ... hmmmmmmmm

Erwin I am just asking you to please take in consideration the staff who have worked diligently for you!

Erwin just doesn't get it.

So long as you both are fair good workers, I don't see why you won't continue as moderators.... unless you have made a good deal of enemies....

Who's quitting staff? (feel free to PM me if you don't want to say in this thread)
All I know of is the ones posted in this thread. Too many pages to dig through. I think the total is around 9 right now.

I FEAR CHANGE
I always have but change is often good growth is change. Will there be problems with the new growth? well duh! but there will be opportunities for us all to step up and make this a better place.I suggest the first thing we all do is stop and pray. Then pray some more perhaps prayer and fasting or whatever way you each come closest to God pray for the site and for a vision of your role in it. how many of you have spent more time responding to the forum than praying about the forum since you got the news? shame on us. I need to go pray now.

One of the things that the new regime will have to avoid and that is the establishing of specific forums that promote an activity that is specifically excluded from the holiness of God. Experience has shown that there can be no winners in that exercise in foolishness
Sounds to me like the "new regime" will be the members at large, in each forum area, deciding how they want to discuss their topics at hand.

For example, imagine if under the Recipe Exchange the consensus of the members there was that there should be a subforum for sharing recipes for making wine, beer, and cordials. It is a somewhat controversial issue, with some Christians believing that one should not drink at all, and others thinking it's a matter of avoiding excess. The discussion about it would probably be long and convoluted. But if there was a clear consensus that the members wanted it, they'd probably get it.

This is entirely untrue. I have never considered myself more than a servant of the members here. What I am upset about is that there are many of us who have worked very hard to serve the members here and are being told that now we have to go through a popularity contest if we want to continue to do so. Oh and not even a thank you.

Doesn't matter, its his internet site. Like he said, he has contemplated ending it before. We should be grateful he is still keeping it up, and has kept it up this long.
