Some of us have been fighting long and hard for cf . Mods, laypeople, some are still here and some have moved on. I feel that everything gained by our efforts has been tossed in the trash and now I'm hearing, "your scared if you don't fight for the "new Cause" Why would we want to when such disregard is shown?

because for tooooooo many, church has become a country club setting and "those people" are simply not welcome. Unfortunately, I've seen it a lot IRL in churches I've pastored

I don't know, I think the idea is to take people at their word instead of having staff investigate people.

If you say you are Christian, you get to wear a Christian Icon. If you say you are married, you get to wear the rings.

I personally have disagreed with the staff investigating anyone's statements as to faith, etc.

I think this new policy is a huge step in the right direction.

Don't forget, some were Christians for years before they turned atheist. I don't really blame them most times either.

That's one perspective. Another is that men invented God and some (atheists), chose to see through the smoke screen. The credible evidence does favor one side. But that's all an apologetics debate and not what this thread is about.

The only thing that I am really concerned about is:

The Bible doesn't teach that you are a Christian just because you believe you are. There are alot of people out there that believe they are Christians because they are good people that live good lives. But the Bible teaches that we must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to be considered a Christian.

I would really look at that one thing.

I converted to Christianity from atheism. It does work the other way around too.
