I don't think anyone is being unforgiving or for that matter out of linee with the posts like it's been suggested. Every body has a right to there opinions and I just think yours are stupid.
That's a shame. Okay dokey.. you are entitled to an opinion as I have the same privilege.

It's honestly sad how much vitriol is coming from people wearing Christian icons and how much forgiveness and willingness to start new is coming from the atheists. I guess that by their fruits we will know them after all..

Do I have some stories to tell you, Larry! ^_^

Oh, boy, I didn't really think that one through!

That folks, was a Lisa moment. Let me explain...

Okay, my husband coined the phrase "Lisa moment" because while I am pretty smart, sometimes, I do, really, really dumb things. For example...

A couple of years ago, I decided to redo our front walk. So, I took up the stepping stones, and removed all of the existing gravel underneath. I was going to replace it with white pebbles. So, our house sits on top of a hill, and it took me two full days to remove the gravel and put it in a pile in the back yard. It was very hard work because the gravel was very heavy. I even bought a new wheelbarrow trying to make the job easier, but rolling all that weight up hill to the backyard was back breaking. So, at the time, my husband was out of town, and when he got home, he asked me why I had put all the gravel in the backyard. I told him that in the morning, he would be able to see the new walkway with the white rock. My husband is like, "But, why did you put the gravel in the backyard WHEN WE HAVE A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY THREE FEET AWAY?"

That, folks, is a Lisa moment!

People have always been free to leave. There is no change there. The difference is that no one is now forced into dark corners with no voice. Now everyone can speak equally. If what they say is more profound, more accepted and more consistent with what can be demonstrated, perhaps you should be listening to what they're saying instead of protesting their new-found right to say it.
Idealistically, perhaps. However, historically when one is give a voice, inevitability another is silenced. What this change may have done is shifted who has the greater voice, but now that it has been given, those who desired it, because they felt oppressed, will most likely become the oppressors. Just look at the history of mankind.

Exactly.

It is not (and never was) our job in life to define Christianity for any other follower of Christ.

We are to live our own lives as a definition of Christianity. Hopefully that will bring others to know Him and love Him.

Pointing out who is and who is not a Christian is not a part of the Great Commission, and not a part of Baptismal vows or theology.

Erwin's vision reflects this beautifully, and I hope people will learn to live it in these forums.

BTW - I think it's fantastic Lisa keeps calling us back to the central act of forgiveness. (You rock, sistah!)

Thank you. I think you rock too!

Yep....Spirit-lead is outlined in Galatians 5:22-23 "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." We are spiritual with spiritual attitudes of our hearts. If the people are submitting to the Holy Spirit, who will give them fruit. We will know by their fruits.

Okay, that is a valid point. What do you think we can do to balance things? The old way was not working for many. How can we improve the new way?

Such an outpouring of Christian love.

A spade is a spade.

We are all allowed to have our own opinion.

Confusion begins when people put their faith in MAN (as in a webmaster) instead of God and what His Word says . This is a prime example.

The simple basic doctrines of Christianity are being thrown out the window to appease the majority of the people on this forum.....

I can believe I am married to an amoeba and, SHAZAM!!!!, I get a "married" icon. All safehouse locks, political and spiritual, are being thrown out the window and mass chaos is now being allowed.

Of course those that have a liberal view of what it means to be a Christian, regardless of what the Word of God teaches, will be elated. The Nicene Creed is simple.basic.Christian. principle.

So who you gonna be angry at? God's word for being different than this new direction? Or that the new direction does not line up with the Word of God?

It is what it is....so have at it.

God is love and the lifeline of the tree of which we are branches. W/o love we are nothing and can do nothing (ie:all is in vain) All comes to motives= His or yours?

I don't think CF is going to be a cesspool. I know people like being around others who agree with everything they believe but when I look at the Christians only section now and see how fractured it is, and how people talk about the "others" in their own forums I know it can't be good for anyone. I always thought Christians lived in a bubble but now I see that there are many many bubbles and it's not going to hurt anyone to step out a little.

I hope there is room for everything and everyone on the "new" CF, including places to debate, places to explore, and places to discuss specific doctrines. I also hope they keep the areas for young people well monitored since I know lots of them go there with their parents permission on the assumption it is safe. Forums exist all over the internet and I've never seen one moderated and controlled so heavily as CF has been! I think that actually encourages bad behavior in some people. I know I have gotten testy over the years when I logged on only to find warnings and notices of deleted posts....and I've always considered myself one of the good guys! LOL!
