The previous rules hurt people even more, because they were unfair...
then explain what yer meant. i quoted ya exactly.

I gave slavery as an example that we can't be limited to what the Bible says when deciding what's good and what isn't.

You could just turn off your computer....there's peace to be found--and it will likely never be on the internet.

I have written before that WD has pretty much been predominantly an Open forum for a bit now and is still a really nice place to fellowship...at least from my perspective.

Out of context - but im sure you know that.
God created confusion at Babel. So yes, confusion is of God.

Just one more good example of how a non beleiver is not qualified to serve on a ministry. Bible knowledge and contextual usage is needed in moderation on a ministry at times indeed.
Staff are not ministers. CF is not a church. Ministering can and does occur between regular members. Bible knowledge doesn't add one iota to the task of moderating a message board. Staff members are not Biblical authorities or church leaders.

Thank you for the example though
Here's a perfect example of incendiary vitriol. Here we have a Christian, using sarcasm and personal digs, to try to make a point.

I ask all the onlookers - is this the type of interpersonal skills you want from staff members? Do you think being put down and insulted adds to the qualities of good moderation?

And I know A4T is not staff, but she is representative of many on staff now, and many who want to be on staff.

When I was younger, I was like you. Over the years, God has taught me the reality of His control in this world. Jesus said in Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Fretting about something........... I have learned a long time ago that "worrying" is sin and that my HEART is showing that I do NOT have FAITH in God's Character in my life. I understood that fretfulness can rob me of my peace and joy of Christ. In our sinful society, I am easy prey to fretfulness when my gaze is fixed circumstances rather than upon God.

I am reminded of this verse, James 4:14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

I trust God regardless what is going to happen today and tomorrow.

I love reading your posts. We do have alot in common even though we don't always agree. Again, I never met a Christian, including my own wife who agrees with me 100% doctrinally. LOL

In the context of Babel, yes, God confused the languages. However, God is NOT the author of confusion. There is a great difference between what God did in Babel and what Satan does in the hearts of men.

Lisa

Yep, confusion is rooted in ~envy and strife~ (that which is earthly and sensual and devilish)

Given the devils BELIEVE and tremble (and have doctrines of the same) and some preach Christ in strife and envy (not of goodwill toward men)

That seems more like an inside job (so to speak) then an outside one

Peace

how it turned out wasnt his original vision. it was the culmination of years of factional fightin and staff power trippin.

Actually, God saw what they were doing was sinful so He changed their "speaking languages". God is not the author of evil. Evil became a reality only when creatures chose to disobey. God is ruling all things to work together for our good and His purpose. Romans 8:28-29 "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."

this is CHRISTIAN forums.com - ideally it would be biased towards Christians Christianity, no matter how badly some people want it to be so, isn't something we can vote on and it ain't something WE define. The Bible has spoken on what it means to be a Christian and i'm sorry if you don't like it but if you fall outside those doctrinal boundaries you are not a Christian.

The changes announced by Erwin won't hurt you in any way, and they will hopefully remove the unfairness which hurts other members... that's something good, not bad.
it doesn't hurt me specifically but where God is upset when people lay His truth aside it upsets me. Where a website that previously could pass for Christian-esque where the gospel was still protected to some degree has changed over night into a doctrinal free-for-all where every nonChristian can masquerade as Christians and pass of false gospels that only lead new/weak believers and genuine seekers to hell God is angry and i'm not going to support a website like that.

13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in....
15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. - Matthew 23:13-15

You would never have to put the Bible ahead of God...the Bible was authored by God. It is God's revelation of Himself to us. A love letter so to speak.

Well, yes... but some of the things on CF which hurt people were created by Erwin, so I'm glad he realized it was a wrong way to fulfill his vision.

ok, cool
