The US government tolerates heretical viewpoints, but that doesn't mean that it *is* heretical. Heck, the Vatican probably doesn't kick people out of Vatican city because they don't adhere to the nicene creed.

I don't think it is the place of CF to define what makes a Christian.

God is in charge,always has been and always will be.There is no room for any evil entities in God's world.

This *isn't* God's world. Satan rules this world. God's world is Heaven - that's where no evil can enter.

If you refuse to acknowledge his existence, how do you stand against him when he attacks? What do you do with the authority you have in Jesus' Name? [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] it up a wall because of some new-age fluffy belief that the devil simply isn't real?

Tell you what, remove your blinkers, speak to people who have been involved in the occult, witchcraft, and then confidently state he doesn't exist.

When the Bible *clearly* and categorically states time and time again that he is real, when Jesus Himself met him and was tempted by him, spoke of the devil's fall, you have no business saying otherwise, where your mistaken arbitrary beliefs could impact the walk of someone who is still learning.

If you don't know what you're talking about, and am sorry, but on this matter, you have no clue, rather than trip other Christians up, it is better to hold your peace.

Well, no one knows yet what the rules will be. But I guess that "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" would be a good base for the rules.

I just havent seen it make a whole lot of a difference in the old CF, all I can say is I hope it will in the new CF- eventually.

I don't really think that things will get worse... I think all the things announced by Erwin are changes for better, and they have the potential to make CF a really amazing place in the internet Maybe there will be some chaos at first, but chaos doesn't have to be bad.

having read the original OP (and NOT all the reactions) i can say that it's a really good vision. one thing is for sure--it will allow for a lot more discussion than we have now, and a lot more room for the Holy Spirit to work with.

That's very gracious of you, and I truly appreciate the sentiment, but there's no need.

This thread has been around the houses a thousand times, so this would never be seen as a derailing.

That being said, what I said wasn't a discussion point. The issue of the devil's reality isn't open to debate. You can discuss it if you wish to go down the existentialism/willful perception route, but in terms of the *reality* of it, truth is absolute.

The devil is as real as you and I. I fear for you greatly if you don't believe that, as it leaves you vulnerable to him, but that's between you and God.

However, confidently stating he doesn't exist is unacceptable, and not your place to do so. I don't know if it's heretical, and frankly, that's irrelevant. But if you proliferate that mistaken opinion, "it is better that you should have a millstone around your neck."

Am not one for quoting scriptures, but that one's fairly cut and dry. Christians have a joyful duty to encourage younger Christians, and feeding them such dangerous misinformation is fundamentally wrong.

On this we'll just have to agree to disagree.
