My problem is not with respectful, kind and wonderful non Christians, of which I have met many.
It is with the acid spiiters. those whose life goal is to tear down our faith and ridicule everything we believe in. You know they exist. You know that is their goal.
And now they have free run of this forum. There is no place to discuss Christianity anymore, as Christianity no longer has a definition or a defense on this site. I cannot ask my brothers about how to avoid or fight temptation, without 5 or 6 people jumping in and telling me that temptation is a myth, and there is no sin.

However, I believe unbelievers can moderate in non-Christian forums while JW, Mormons and other believers can moderate their own forums.I think you may have missed an earlier post of his (unsurprising, given the speed of this discussion!). The moderator elections would be done by subforum, so it's immensely unlikely non-Christians are going to be modding outside of Debate.
There'll have to be controls to prevent voting blocs, but I imagine that will be hammered out before the system is implemented.

Well, at this point I'm hoping that there would still be some sort of oversight. Given many of the opinions expressed in this thread, I'm not anxious for people supported by some here to be voted into power over me.
I think the ideas have a lot of potential if implemented well. Otherwise it could certainly be a disaster, but it doesn't hurt to give it a chance.

New rules will be written, by community consensus.
Guess what.... there are a lot of acid spitters who will be happy to vote.
What if we implemented weighted voting on a per forum basis? Assign a member one vote for each post they have made in a forum. That way, those who are most invested in a forum by posting in it will have the largest say in who moderates it.
