I've heard that too, but from all that I've studied about it I'm convinced that it's both, since those who belong to God receive an actual mark, which is the "seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit" in the sacramental act of Holy Chrismation, and so likewise, since much of what Satan does in the Antichrist is a cheap imitation (i.e. a parody and mockery of God's Christ), the worshippers of the Beast will receive an "anointing" for healing, with unholy oil to mock the "oil of the catechumens" which is for the health of body and soul, shortly after, a baptism (in a symbolic way in the blood of the children murdered/sacrificed in the womb for medical research purposes), and then, finally a "sealing" of sorts that mimics Holy Chrismation, but is done with an unholy chrism, likely to be injected so as to be internal. It's like I said: the majority will not even know what they are doing on account of the "strong delusion" that God will permit in these times. Just know that mRNA molecules cannot reach a cell's interior to do their work without the use of lipids (i.e. oils, fats, waxes) incorporated into the injections. The vaccine is a "lipid nanoparticle". Think about this "oil" and about the methods of research commonly accepted now, but previously condemned by the Holy Orthodox Church as unacceptable - a grave sin against God and ultimately - apostasy. The Antichrist will "sit upon the throne of human health". Does this come as a surprise to us? We have been warned by the saints. Nobody hears, and hardly any are speaking. Those who do are deemed crazy. The saints have warned: "Your shepherds will sell you out" (i.e. they will encourage you to receive the mark, telling you that it is okay). But before the sealing there is to be the war, after which not many of us will be left.

It'll be done so gradually, by introducing "little" marks here and there, over time (which already began some time ago) that people won't really notice or mind so much in the end. It's likened to putting the frog in a pot of water and bringing up the temperature gradually until it reaches boiling. Otherwise the frog would jump out of the pot. This is how the world is being prepared for the sealing (with the "mark"), without which one won't be able to participate in the economy (to "buy or sell"). A choice will need to be made then, between serving God or serving mammon. you cannot serve both God and mammon. Obviously, for Orthodox Christians this is a choice that always must be made in the moment, but our gradual acclimation will make it all the harder to discern and choose rightly with regards to whether or not to receive the mark, which is a "final" marking that determines one's eternal dwelling place. Endnote... the mark won't be so obvious if it's just a hydrogel coated biomedical device the size of a grain of rice that's to be injected under the skin in the area between the thumb and index finger, for example. It will just seem like a good idea for the sake of one's health and safety. If it's forced because of its ramifications in the control of pandemic outbreaks, it will seem all the more necessary. But if this medicine and technology is founded upon idolatrous, evil practices (abortion and "products of conception" research) and Godless atheistic scientism, then who are we if we don't refuse it? What is our identity if we show our agreement with this evil rather than denouncing it with our words as well as our deeds, just for the sake of our mortal lives? Weren't the Christians in the time of the Apostles given a free pass if they would merely throw a little incense onto the coals in the temple of the Roman emperor god (i.e. agreeing by the works of their hand)? Wasn't it the true Christians who refused and so paid with their lives, while those who conceded were apostates? Beneath the surface all things are the same now as they were then, things are just dressed up differently so that it's nearly impossible to know it for what it is.

But this is all way beyond the scope of this thread. I probably should not have written it, but I'll leave it since I already have. I'll create a new thread with the transcript of the segment of the radio show with the Bishop of Morphou, and any additional discussion can be developed from there.

It would deceive the elect, if that were possible, but it's not possible, because they will be prevented by Grace from being deceived. What will make it so deceptive to everyone else is the fact, as foretold by the holy Fathers, that the demons will stir up within them such a great excitement towards the Beast that he will be impossible for them to resist. right, so my hesitancy is that so many people are raising the alarm about a physical mark, that I don’t think that’s what it will be. it seems way too obvious.

I dunno... I think that St. Paisios, in his "Spiritual Counsels" was pretty adamant that the mark of the Beast is of a concrete, physical nature. I think other saints have thought and counseled about it in like manner. This I seem to recall, is the case, though admittedly, my powers of memory leave much to be desired.

I think other saints have thought and counseled about it in like manner. This I seem to recall, is the case, though admittedly, my powers of memory leave much to be desired.

I am not saying exactly that I know what it will be or not, only that I am hesitant to say it’s physical since so many folks raise the alarm whenever physical marks that aren’t the actual mark of the Beast make their rounds in the news. I guess I should say not a physical mark like any we have already seen.

I see. For instance, at one time people were suggesting that we would be stamped with a barcode using a lazer, but now this seems extremely implausible.

yeah, and it just seems that so far, all physical marks have shot up way too many hands. that’s one reason I think it’ll be more deceptive.
