While Passepartout was away with his reunited daughter getting her a milkshake, the others in Ren's loft were agreeing that Passepartout should had never married Madeline.
If they had known the kind of person she was. Phileas and Mr Fix explained that Madeline planned for her former husband's separation from his little girl far in advance.
As she hired three former convicts to take care of Passepartout. Once & for all. Then there was a twist.
Madeline went to see a witch who was very smart but also wicked to the core. The witch would build a hole for her husband to fall in. Not just any ordinary hole. But a very, very huge hole. Not only was it huge.
But there was a twist to the hole as well.
But the hole would lead Passepartout from the 19th century to a world that wouldn't be his world at all. And leave him trapped forver. Never to see his beloved little girl. After all of that happened with his beatings and disappearance.
The police at the Foggs and Fixes request came to question Madeline. But over and over she denied anything to do with his disappearance. The police could do nothing about it.
But still Phileas and Wilbur promised to not give up. And find not just Passepartout but Priscilla. Both alive and well.
Madeline also denied that she was involved in Priscilla's kidnapping. As the police searched her loft dozens of times. The loft came up clean.
Fogg & Fix knew that she was using their little girl against Passepartout.
And was hiding her really well. As the duo did some investigating on their own. One day they went in a club for some drinks.
And lo & behold, there was MADELINE. And to make things complicated, the little girl in heavey make-up. Was Priscilla.
The poor little girl looked like that she lost a lot of weight. And was skin & bones. Madeline saw both of them and tried to run.
But both men stopped her. As Wilbur grabbed Priscilla to take her home. Fogg was going to turn Madeline over to the police. And she would perhaps be charged with her husband's disappearance and maybe murder.
That charge carried with it, hanging. Madeline then broke down and admitted to his disappearance. And told Phileas every single detail that lead to the beating and disappearance of the frenchman.
That led them to the arrest of the three men who nearly killed Passepartout. And the witch whom made the disapparance possible to close down her witchcraft business. Once and for all.
Madeline escaped the gallows. It also meant a short sentence for testifying against the three men & the witch. Despite escaping the gallows and a short prison term there was one catch to all of this.
Never, ever, was she allowed anywhere near Priscilla nor Passepartout. If they could find him. But if she did break that rule, she could never ever return to England. As she would be banned forever.
They didn't want to tell Passepartout. Because they worried the poor frenchman enough.
As the past nine months have been so heckteck. As well as trying to combat his amnesia. Passepartout and his daughter seemingly were out not just to get milkshakes.
But also he wanted to spoil her like any ordinary daddy does with his princess. Get her more stuffed animals.
As well as catch up on everything she does. And while it isn't written in the story.
Perhaps he was thinking while watching his daughter have a ball picking toys as well as just spending time with her. About his present. About his future. As well as who he was going to spend his present and future with. As well as the time periods. The time periods he grew up in and the people with.
Or the time period that made him "wipe out" his memories of the 19th century.
And finding a new life with a woman who was determined to make him live. Not just physically. But also given him the will and found a reason for him to live. Because of the love of people and friends around him.
It didn't mattter if he was a second bannana and a servant of an important man in England. In the Reform Club.
It didn't matter to him at all that he was making someone famous. Because all that pales in comparison with the love and care of people around you.
And plus, he couldn't and sadly wouldn't remember anything about that legandary trip due to his almost shattered body and skull.
But what mattered is that he needed someone to lean on. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally.
When he wasn't(or so felt or thought himself)that he wasn't important. But Ren made sure that he was important and that it doesn't matter what you are.
But what matters is who you are. And if people throw you away like a candy bar. But then there is a caring person in the world after all who looked way, way beyond the smelly clothes and beard and long hair.
And despite suffering from total memory loss, all was not lost on the poor and injured frenchman. As he did find a way to live indeed. And later...how one little girl would help him to decide what Passepartout would want for not just his present and future. But that of his sweet but very smart daughter.
