  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

While Passepartout was away with his reunited daughter getting her a milkshake, the others in Ren's loft were agreeing that Passepartout should had never married Madeline.
If they had known the kind of person she was. Phileas and Mr Fix explained that Madeline planned for her former husband's separation from his little girl far in advance.
As she hired three former convicts to take care of Passepartout. Once & for all. Then there was a twist.
Madeline went to see a witch who was very smart but also wicked to the core. The witch would build a hole for her husband to fall in. Not just any ordinary hole. But a very, very huge hole. Not only was it huge.

But there was a twist to the hole as well.
But the hole would lead Passepartout from the 19th century to a world that wouldn't be his world at all. And leave him trapped forver. Never to see his beloved little girl. After all of that happened with his beatings and disappearance.

The police at the Foggs and Fixes request came to question Madeline. But over and over she denied anything to do with his disappearance. The police could do nothing about it.
But still Phileas and Wilbur promised to not give up. And find not just Passepartout but Priscilla. Both alive and well.
Madeline also denied that she was involved in Priscilla's kidnapping. As the police searched her loft dozens of times. The loft came up clean.

Fogg & Fix knew that she was using their little girl against Passepartout.
And was hiding her really well. As the duo did some investigating on their own. One day they went in a club for some drinks.
And lo & behold, there was MADELINE. And to make things complicated, the little girl in heavey make-up. Was Priscilla.
The poor little girl looked like that she lost a lot of weight. And was skin & bones. Madeline saw both of them and tried to run.
But both men stopped her. As Wilbur grabbed Priscilla to take her home. Fogg was going to turn Madeline over to the police. And she would perhaps be charged with her husband's disappearance and maybe murder.

That charge carried with it, hanging. Madeline then broke down and admitted to his disappearance. And told Phileas every single detail that lead to the beating and disappearance of the frenchman.
That led them to the arrest of the three men who nearly killed Passepartout. And the witch whom made the disapparance possible to close down her witchcraft business. Once and for all.

Madeline escaped the gallows. It also meant a short sentence for testifying against the three men & the witch. Despite escaping the gallows and a short prison term there was one catch to all of this.
Never, ever, was she allowed anywhere near Priscilla nor Passepartout. If they could find him. But if she did break that rule, she could never ever return to England. As she would be banned forever.

They didn't want to tell Passepartout. Because they worried the poor frenchman enough.
As the past nine months have been so heckteck. As well as trying to combat his amnesia. Passepartout and his daughter seemingly were out not just to get milkshakes.
But also he wanted to spoil her like any ordinary daddy does with his princess. Get her more stuffed animals.
As well as catch up on everything she does. And while it isn't written in the story.

Perhaps he was thinking while watching his daughter have a ball picking toys as well as just spending time with her. About his present. About his future. As well as who he was going to spend his present and future with. As well as the time periods. The time periods he grew up in and the people with.
Or the time period that made him "wipe out" his memories of the 19th century.
And finding a new life with a woman who was determined to make him live. Not just physically. But also given him the will and found a reason for him to live. Because of the love of people and friends around him.

It didn't mattter if he was a second bannana and a servant of an important man in England. In the Reform Club.
It didn't matter to him at all that he was making someone famous. Because all that pales in comparison with the love and care of people around you.
And plus, he couldn't and sadly wouldn't remember anything about that legandary trip due to his almost shattered body and skull.

But what mattered is that he needed someone to lean on. Not just physically but mentally and emotionally.
When he wasn't(or so felt or thought himself)that he wasn't important. But Ren made sure that he was important and that it doesn't matter what you are.
But what matters is who you are. And if people throw you away like a candy bar. But then there is a caring person in the world after all who looked way, way beyond the smelly clothes and beard and long hair.
And despite suffering from total memory loss, all was not lost on the poor and injured frenchman. As he did find a way to live indeed. And later...how one little girl would help him to decide what Passepartout would want for not just his present and future. But that of his sweet but very smart daughter.

Then they saw Passepartout & his lovable little girl come back from not just milkshakes.
But he got her some stuffed animals as well. And they were quiet and "pretended" not to talk about what they just did behind his back.
As the duo came back to the loft. Then Passepartout asked everybody to sit down and not say a word.
Because he has surprisinly already decided his future. Not just for his sake.

But also the sake of his little girl mainly.
And as the reader figures out though he doesn't say it just yet. For the woman that he loves way too much.
Who sacrificed so much & gone out of her way. Just to make sure that he would live. And that she came into his already much needed broken hearted life.

As he, like Ren has said many times over, came into her life like a much needed guardian angel.
He thought that the stories the Foggs and Fixes told were wonderful. And that was great to them if he was a legend.
Having overcome adversity almost all of his life. From childhood to an adult. From the orphanage & foster homes. To his education and joining the circus. As well as having so, so many jobs. Teacher, fireman, singer, & chimney sweeper.

To getting the name of Passepartout. And becoming a valet. As well as speaking many lanuages. And getting out of scrapes with that name.
But as hard as he would love to try to remember. He sadly admits that he couldn't nor wouldn't at all remember those memories. Both good ones. And painful ones.
Not even meeting Phileas. And making that legendary trip. But what was worse, not remembering how he became a loving & doting father. But didn't want to mention that to his little girl.
Occupied with her stuffed animals for fear of hurting his daughter's feelings.

As the reader seems to figure everybody in the room would have to nonetheless agree with the poor frenchman. Due to nearly having every bone in his body broken.
Especially his skull & brain. But also he felt that he never, ever in his life had a place he ever call home.
Despite staying with the Foggs in Saville Row, the orphanages, and foster homes. Not even his adopted parents home. He felt that he could finally find a place he could & would call his PERMANENT HOME.
A home that would be finally his to own. Also he felt that he was familiar in the 21st century's surroundings. And began to grow comfortable and at home with the year 2005.

But most importantly, he wanted not one but two people to spend the rest of his life with. His little girl Priscilla first of all. Who gave him a new perspective on starting a brand new & fresh life. And how his little girl really took her daddy's needs into consideration.
Despite missing her friends and school in 19th century England. But felt that the painful memories for both of them with her kidnapping & his disappearance they were definately ready to leave behind. Once & for all. That like her daddy, Priscilla could also make and needed a fresh start.
But the first & foremost person that would really not take his leaving well is Ren. He explains no matter how hard he could & would try. Ren could no way go back with him to his time period.

Because the time period that he has been living in & with her is her time period. Her friends and family are in the 21st century. She feels as the reader also understands that she belongs here. Her work and way of living as well.
And Passepartout feels that he really also belongs here. And with her along with Priscilla. That he really wants to forget the past. And move on with his life. In the present & definately the future.
The reader also thinks that saying this is hurting him more than for the other people in the loft listening.
But saying this comes from the bottom of his heart. And so he decides that he wants to live here. With Ren and have Priscilla with him at his side. That he & Ren were meant to belong together.

He admits he is reluctant to say all of this. For the fears of hurting his soon to be former employers and their families.
But the Foggs & Fixes seem to know where he is coming from. As well as how much his love for Ren & Priscilla are geniune & affectionate.
So he decides the 21st century will be his new permanent home. And a chance to start a new life. With new friends. A new job. And with his already new family.
But also he tells the Foggs & Fixes that they will always be his family. Always have and always will be his family. Despite not going back with them in their time period.

Then the Foggs & Fixes with reluctance but not showing it to Passepartout & Ren must do their best to accept the fact about a lot of things.
Like not having their best & resourceful servant and friend coming back to them. But despite not having him going back with them in the 19th century. He assures them lovingly that that won't be the first time nor last time they will see of him at all. Not at all.
As they all know they will see him & his new family from time to time always.
They also accept that where he is living in present day will be his new home. And that his love and admiration of Ren is so wholeheartedly true.

As they also know this would give him a wonderful start to begin a new life. Not just for him. But for Ren and also little Priscilla.
The older man Fix tells him not to be a stranger. Passepartout tells him that they are anything but strangers.
As the Foggs want to come back & see him. As Passepartout & Ren would do the same to the Foggs & the Fixes.
Thanks to Shaw and Harris' invention of time travel. Seeing Auoda give birth to her twins for sure.
As Passepartout wants them to know that his & Ren's home are the Foggs & Fixes home also. As the two other couples admit the same to Ren, Passepartout, & Priscilla.

Then as the Foggs & Fixes are prepared to leave the next day, they ask Harris & the doc to go back to 19th century England to retrieve some stuff.
So that they could give to their loyal frenchman friend and former manservant. Who would not be coming home with them. For them to give to him. Not just as a sovieniur. But also for him to remember.

Fix again told him he and his family are always welcomed and don't be a stranger. But before he went, he gave him something very valuabe.
He gave him his badge. The badge he retired from in the London police department where he was a police detective.
As he also wanted Passepartout to call him Wilbur and be on a first name basis. Then his wife Mildred came up to kiss him.

Then Auoda wanted him, Ren & Priscilla to come and see her deliver the twin babies.
In which Passepartout wholeheartedly promised to come and see the Foggs & the remainder of their family.
As they were motioned by Harris and the doc to come & leave in the time machine. Passepartout gave a speech.
Saying he didn't know when he was badly beaten and left for dead, he kept hoping & praying that the days he was clinging onto dear life wasn't his last day. That people had brushed him off like a "candy bar wrapper" in his words.

And how Ren found him & gave him a reason to live. As he also mentioned that he had given her a reason to enjoy life.
That although he would be left with total memory loss and not remember his childhood from his adulthood.
He did want to remember one thing first & foremost importantly. That not only does he have family in his new permanent home.
But also family and good friends in the Foggs & Fixes.

Despite their different customs & ways in different time periods. As there was not a dry eye in the loft.
That he also mentioned Ren's words that he came into her life as a much needed guardian angel. That though he wouldn't be there sometimes physically with them.
If they needed him or wanted to speak with him. That they should look and see over their shoulder that there is a guardian angel watching out for them. Everytime. All the time.

Then the usually cool & calm Phileas also was with tears in his eyes. That even though they will live in different time periods.
And though Passepartout is no longer under command nor watch. How he wanted to put his arms around Passepartout & give him a long hug. As the teary-eyed Passepartout did the same.
Phileas told him to watch over his new family and still refered to him as his servant.

As Passepartout reminded him that he was no longer his servant but a friend and also family. But Phileas said to him he is and always will be.
And like Fix, he wanted to go on a first name basis.
Then still teary-eyed the Foggs and Fixes go back to their own time period. 19th century England. That is where they belong. And how they lived life.

Then after his family in the past went back to their time period, Passepartout looked at his current & future family in his new permanent home.
Now for the first time, he could be called the man of the house.
Ren asked him if he remembered all of that with his little girl. How he was the doting dad when he first held her in his arms as a baby until she was six. Before his beating and disappearance.
But Passepartout told her that he didn't at all. But nor did he want Priscilla to hear that. For the fear of hurting his little girl's feelings.
But one thing he did want to remember as he wanted his little girl to remember.

That he was, is, & always will be the doting & lovable dad Priscilla will ever have.
Then Ren gave him something pulling it from her shirt. She told him she promised the Foggs & Fixes to give it to him when they were gone & out of his sight. For fears of breaking down in front of him.

It was a black & white medium photo of Phileas, Auoda, Wilbur, & Passepartout at the train station.
When they made that legendary trip around the world in 80 days.
Then they put on the back how much they accomplished all because of him. How Phileas found his wife and love. How he became more human and missed out on love and having a life.

How Auoda had him and now have a huge family.
How Wilbur stopped being so selfish and started being a more loving human being.
How without their resourceful french valet and friend, that legendary trip around the world would had been impossible.
But he made the trip a possibility and the dream into a reality. And it had all their names signed on the back.
As Passepartout, still in tears, not only would frame the picture in his new home. But fame it in his heart and soul. To remember & cherish.
As he lovingly and cherishingly picked up his adorable little girl. As he & Ren not only hug her together. But Jean & Ren's love kept growing more and more genuine & heartfelt.

Fast forward two & a half years later. The last chapter in the story.
There was a father in the hospital. Holding his newborn son. Christmas Day 2007. With his family with a couple with six kids. And also an older couple acting like the grandparents.
There the newborn father was holding his one day old son. Beaming with joy and full of pride. As he has a little "heart-to-heart" chat with his precious child.
As the doting dad wanted for his son. Not just to be loved. But also that his son would never, ever grow up to make the same mistakes the dad has made in his life.
And that people do care for him as the dad had & has always known and continues to do so.

Then he tells the infant that his name is Jean Jules Verne MacCarren Passepartout.
Using the famous author's name. As the infant mother's maiden name. And his dad's last name. Or to call him JJ for short.
That the dad hopes that his son doesn't have the same life his dad had. The rough life that Passepartout had from childhood to adult.
That his son doesn't grow up in a world not full of love and care. That his daddy didn't have at all.
For his son to be normal and have a normal childhood. And upbrining.
Also something that Passepartout Sr never got to experience. That his son would make the right choices that will lead to the right decisions. And make them all by himself.
Because Passepartout never had the chance to make all the decisions by himself all of his life. For people made those descisions for him.

That he doesn't grow up way, way too soon like his daddy. But also get a normal education. Normal friends. And hopefully find the right gal. To settle down & have plenty of kids.
But not right now because he wanted JJ to be a child for awhile he lovingly admits.
That also people would hurt him. And take advantage of him.
Just as Passepartout Sr had to suffer.
But wanted Passepartout Jr to also not just look inside of people's hearts and souls.
But also to be aware & careful of the circumstances he was and would face. From childhood to adulthood.
Then the father looks back & wishes that he never, ever married his first wife.

Because if he could go back and undo the past, he could & would. That his now ten year old daughter also could undo as well.
Despite not coming from his wife Ren's womb. Ren considers Priscilla her first & only mommy.
As Ren isn't just a mommy. But a teacher, friend, big sister, and also a "kind-hearted DI" he laughinly admits.
As on Passepartout's & Ren's wedding day, they also adopted Priscilla. As Priscilla now calls Ren her real, real mommy.

Also sadly, Passepartout tells his son he has been suffering from total memory loss. And can't recall not just events from his childhood unto adulthood.
How he doesn't remember all of those jobs from the circus to a valet.
The orphanages, foster homes, & how he got the name of Passepartout.
But also he tells his son that he is also a legend as the reader can tell it is uncomfortable for the dad to admit as he and "Uncle Phileas & Aunt Auoda" as well as "Grandpa & Grandma Fix" are all legends.

That he doesn't remember the legendary trip around the world in 80 days.
How he saved Aunt Auoda from a funeral prye. How he stopped a train from being taken over by Indians.
And how he helped Uncle Phileas win his bet when all was lost. How Phileas & Auoda became husband & wife. With a huge family.

Despite all those memories seemed like "someone took an eraser & erased Passepartout's brain".
JJ is glad to have an uncle & aunt. As well as grandparents who could tell him many, many, wonderful stories of that legendary trip.
Because they all remember if his daddy can't.

How Passepartout was nearly beaten badly and clinging onto life. Not knowing which day would be his last day.
How he landed in JJ's mommy's loft. Not only did he met his mommy in her loft.
But how she sacrificed so much to make sure he lived. And gave him a whole new perspective & outlook on life. And why he needed to have one of many, many reasons to live.

As he, as JJ's mommy has kept saying, came into her life like a much needed guardian angel in an unexpected way.
Though Ren knew somehow, someway she was in need of a gurdian angel.
But didn't know it nor realized it until that day on August 1 2004. How he brought out the best in her.
And also how he helped her understand & realize even the small things in life are important.
That the time he & mommy met each other, their lives would changed forever. And only for the better.

How he and mommy are in love with each other. Always has & always will be forever.
How their love is so geniune and so delicate. That JJ is also lucky to have a loving & caring sister in Priscilla.
That Priscilla is taking after her and his mother in those traits of loving & caring.
That not only would his mommy & daddy would be protecting him and spoiling him with love and tenderness.

But also a sister, who wanted a little brother the day mommy & daddy got married.
Now she has a little brother. What more can an older sister ask for.
Now that Passepartout Sr tearfully but lovingly cuddles little JJ as he kisses and welcomes his infant son into the world.
Though unseen but hopes for the best in his son.

The Cast of Main Characters in the Story:

Rena MacCarren: Aka "Ren". A workaholic amerasian writer and teacher who's work was her life. But then, unbeknowest to her, someone in the form of a guardian angel came not just dropping near her loft. But also would change her life and her perspective with how she looks at people and things. Even the small things that are taken for granted.

Ren also wanted to make sure that her "patient" turned frenchman friend lives. And give him a reason to live. As the workaholic writer turns nurse and sacrifices her work only for one person and reason. For him and him alone. Somewhere along the story both she and Passepartout seem to have a certain attraction. Though they seem to be just friends. But there is more than a strong friendship but a bond that would blossom into love and romance.

Jean Passepartout: The french valet made famous by Jules Verne in "Around the World in 80 Days". A former circus rider, fireman, professor, singer, among many jobs. Before coming to London and becoming a valet to Phileas Fogg. Met Ren "falling through" her loft. Badly beaten and penniless. Not to mentioned smelled badly and had long hair and a beard. Suffering through total amnesia. If Ren was a workaholic, then Passepartout was a free spirit. He came into her life just when she least unexpected it. But also at a time when she seemed to needed it.

But he also showed Ren how to love. As well as the most important thing in life. To get a life and prove that work isn't as important as it is cracked up to be. For the next eight months, he and Ren grows a friendship. That turns into a strong and loving relationship bond.

Here are also other characters. Though they aren't the main characters, these "supporting" players play just a vital role in the story.

Dr Maury Shaw: Ren's childhood & family doctor. Ren considers him one of her father figures. Treats Passepartout wonderfully well. And make sure that he lives just as Ren wants the good doc to do. Diagnosis Passepartout with total amnesia. Also kids and "irritates" him by calling Passepartout "the boy". He tells Ren that the Passepartout she is keeping in her home is really the Passepartout of the Jules Verne novel. And that time travel is no myth. As he showed her his time machine. One of only two known time machines ever built. With another person with whom Shaw has become good friends with. A professor and scholar.

Rafe: Former DEA agent & US Marshal. Who also Ren considers a father figure. And ironically is Ren's uncle. As Ren is his favorite niece. Takes a liking to Passepartout and also calls him "the boy". Put Ren into the Federal Witness Protection Program when her life was in jeopardy. And when her great DEA agent friend Donvan was murdered, Rafe thought her life was in danger. Now the sheriff in a northern city, wants Passepartout to help him and a dozen other former law enforcement officials to help put away the crooked US Attorney in the city.

Donvan: Ren's DEA agent friend. Also was like a mentor to her. When she was an interm at the Justice Department. And though it is never mentioned in print, may have saved her from being killed by the US Attorney and his crooked band of federal marshals. For fears of exposing him. Was divorced and had two children hoping to regain full custody.

Phileas Fogg: The hero in Around the World in 80 Days and Passepartout's former master. Was very happy to see Passepartout alive and well. And the reader gets the feeling also sad. Because the frenchman didn't seem to remember him nor his family. Fogg is married to the former princess Auoda. He treats Passepartout more like a family member and friend. Not just an ordinary servant and/or employee. Fogg has gotten much more human and sympathetic.

Auoda: Fogg's Indian wife. Has four children(Phileas mentions to Passepartout while in a cafe, that he and his wife adopted two more children of different races while he vanished). Tells Passepartout he helped her husband and her accomplished their trip as well as fall in love and be married. She is pregnant and is expecting twins.

Wilbur and Mildred Fix: An elderly couple who got married at the time Phileas and Auoda as well as Passepartout and his first wife got married. Fix was a retired detective from the London Police Department. Was like a grandfather to Phileas & Auoda's children. Gives Passepartout his police badge that he retired before he, Mildred, and the Foggs went back to their own time.

Harris: A secretive and mysterious man who goes by only one name. British and was the first person to invent the time machine. The first ever time machine. But unlike Shaw, who had the internet and other technology. The suave Harris built his from scratch and instructions on his own. Has traveled in his over ten years of time travel over 500,000 miles to the past, present, & future. Also is a physcologist and hynotist. Who hynotized Passepartout in hopes of regaining part of his memory back. And take him back from childhood to adulthood.

Priscilla: Passepartout's Japanese daughter. Priscilla is seven years old but was six at the time of his disappearance. She celebrated her birthday when he beaten and disappeared. She is smarter than she seems for her age. And also she seems concern and cares about her daddy. Her daddy kind of remembers how loving and doting he was and is. Passepartout shows how he loves, adores, and cares for his "Precious Priscilla". How he later learned he raised her on his own from since her birth to the time of his disappearance. She also would seem to be the one and only way for him to go back with her as well as the Foggs & Fixes to the 19th century. Aka the 1870's - 1880's. And the time he grew up in. But also takes her daddy's concerns and cares into consideration as well. As she loves and looks up to Passepartout.

Madeline: Passepartout's first wife. Also training to be a maid. Along with her servant husband. Who really cheated before, during, and after their marriage behind his and their little girl's back. The relationship starts out lovely with courtship and marriage. But then goes sour as Priscilla is adopted. Then she leaves him and months later divorces him. Since he was so devoted and loyal to her. He gave her what she wanted and got. Then six years later, while raising his little girl on his own. She comes back all skin & bones. And is flirting with other men. A different man each and every night. As she is working as a stripper. And wants both her ex husband and their daughter back into her life. But Passepartout, careless in his younger days, tells her that he has grown up and wants to be a better role model for his daughter. And that the damage has already been done. She sues him for custody of Priscilla. But it is evident that his daughter doesn't want to go back to her mommy. As he is awarded full custody.

As she is the mastermined that separated Passepartout from Priscilla. As she hired three huge ex-cons to do away with her former husband. And to gain control of Priscilla. And also hire a witch to create a huge hole that would not just separate him from his loving daughter. But separate him from one century to another. From the 19th century which was his own to the 21st century. Which would be unfamiliar and not his own world. Fogg and Fix later would explain that she caught Madeline red-handed at a bar with Priscilla, being, in the writer's words, her "meal ticket".

That she was indeed responsible for Passepartout's disappearance and maybe even murder. That she has married dozen of times. Just to have a man and then later to dump that man for another one. Also they thought she couldn't have children but did indeed as she also hid that behind Passepartout's back. She was spared the gallows as she had those three ex-cons arrested and the witch to shut down her witchcraft business. Once and for all. And then she was told if she made contact with Priscilla or even Passepartout. If they could find him alive, she would be banished from England forever.

Also Passepartout and Ren despite living under one roof promised to give each other the night of virginity until their wedding night.
Also Priscilla thought Ren was more like her mother despite her not coming from Ren's womb. Priscilla had a loving and caring mother figure in Ren.
As Priscilla seemed to love being not just with her daddy but also with Ren. Despite Passepartout's long-term memory loss as well as the physical, mental, and emotional affects of his fall that fateful but glorious night.
He came into Ren's loft but most of all life. He seemed to lead a normal and happy life.
If not lead the vigiorious, physical, and lively life he once had in his younger and sometimes "wilder" days.

When he was with the circus, firehouse, teaching, valet, among other jobs he held. But Ren also mainly found what was missing in her life.
That Passepartout's former master Phileas Fogg lacked. A life full of love and family.
Everything was in her life except for those two but very important things. Priscilla, Ren, & Jean were one big happy, vigorious, and loving family.
As it was also evident to their immediate families and friends. As well as Passepartout's family. The Foggs and the Fixes in the 19th century.
Thanks to Dr Shaw's Time Machine, they travelled back to that century. Visting Phileas and Auoda. With their now six kids and the grandparently Fixes.

As on their special wedding night, not only did Ren thought she would never, ever get married.
But also never, ever thought she needed a man in her once workaholic life. But in Jean Passepartout, he helped her find as well as, in her words, "get a life!!"
He was the man both on the outside but mainly & mostly on the inside, helped her open her eyes and see what she had been missing. Even the smaller things in life.
But also there was a special surprise for little Priscilla. That Ren & Jean were adopting her as their own daughter.

That Priscilla looked up to Ren as not as the mother but as the teacher, sister, mentor, and friend that Priscilla lacked in her "real mother".
But Madeline was nowhere at all near what Ren was. And that Passepartout found happiness as well as true love in Ren. Something also that lacked in Madeline.
As well as true character, warmth, and gentleness in Ren. As Madeline could now call Ren, her "mommy!"
Because Ren treated her like her own daughter though Priscilla didn't come from her womb. Then a year and a half into marriage.
They made Priscilla a sister. With the birth of Jules Jean Verne McCarren Passepartout. JJ for short. A new hope and a new future began.

But Passepartout doesn't want along with Ren, for Priscilla never, ever to have contact with her real mom. Her biological mother after what his ex-wife did to their daughter.
And how heartless she was to her and not taking into consideration Priscilla. Her physical as well as her mental and emotional needs. Those nearly six to seven months with her mom were like a living nightmare come true.
And that now Priscilla considered Ren her real mother. And that Ren, despite only wanting to play the stepmom, found herself reliquishing that role.
As she treated Priscilla much, much better. With love, care, understanding, as well as in a way.

Have the same personality. As well as also both were very smart and intelligent.
But also Ren, like Passepartout, wanted Priscilla to be humble and modest. And also to put others way, way before themselves first and foremost.
She and Priscilla would go shopping for clothes as well as talk about the stuff girls talk about. Boys to education. To friends and who were the true friends from the false ones. As with Passepartout with his son JJ.

JJ, named after his dad's first name and Jules Verne, probably would be like a carbon copy of his own daddy.
Both the before and during Passepartout's amnesia. Kind, sweet, shy. But once you get to know him. Lively and talkative.
As well as very passionate and vulnerable. Wearing his heart on his sleeve. Also would know how to treat a lady right. Or a girl until the time matters. And Priscilla...aka Precious Priscilla as her doting daddy called her. Is also the big sister to JJ.

Would be the bodyguard to him until he "assumes" the role when he gets bigger. She was quiet and withdrawn like her now mom Ren.
But also is smart as well as considerate. Puts other peoples' needs above everyone else's. And that Priscilla would grow up to be more like Ren and not like her first "mommy" Madeline.
As Passepartout and Ren were like each other's bodyguard. Both before and now during their marriage.
Passepartout and Ren seemingly are glad to raise their children in the present day environment.
And also teach their children more peaceful ways to end conflicts. As well as making sure they also be a role model for other kids their age.

Also the book of 80 Days shows Passepartout being a very, very resourceful and loyal employee as well as this story.
No matter if he was in the circus nor a firefighter or valet. He was once vibrant, lively, talkative, and very, very mobile in physique and manner.
But now since the tragic accident that nearly took his life. He is now like a little child. A three year old.
The 19th century "family" that Passepartout had back when he was born and raised in Paris.
As well as the Foggs and Fixes. Are not just a thing of the past. And despite both of those families reluctantly never, ever getting back their old "manservant, sidekick, and uncle friend" back.

They have come to accept the new but shy, gentle, child-like, kind of withdrawn and quiet new man Passepartout has become. And they admit but privately agree with the now mundane and tepid frenchman.
But even though she has read about it, Ren as well as Priscilla and now their newborn son, will never experience what their husband and daddy was once. But love Passepartout for just being Passepartout.
Not because he is a hero in the eyes of young and sci-fi readers. Not that he was a loyal jack of all trades. But by being a sweet and gentle frenchman that he is.

And also that it is not just how much wealth you have. Nor if you have fancy clothes or live in rich houses.
But the point of the story is that it is your heart and soul that counts. And that it comes from the bottom of the heart.
Meaning what you say and saying what you mean.
As Passepartout and Ren's two children are following after both their parents. As well as learning from them.
Treating people the way that you want to be treated. And also being a hero to your children. As well as your children's children Not by just a sci-fi book.
But also being a role model and showing humbleness & grace along with it. Passepartout and Ren want to instill that in their children that despite different generations as well as centuries and customs and ways.

That they should keep the people that they love always and forever.
Even when it is their time to leave the earth.
How Priscilla and Ren also learn brains from their mother as well as "gentle brawns" and also humility and to take it like "a man or a woman".
While they also learn emotions, heart, and soul from their father. That both kids grow up right and live like it was their last day on earth.

Phileas Fogg, Passepartout's former master, learned a lot from his trusty french servant.
Even though it didn't mention it in the Jules Verne 80 Days book, it wouldn't take long for a smart and intelligent person to realize.
That Fogg changed from being a man of no emotions and having no life.
To being someone despite winning his wager after setting the pace making it around the world in...well...80 days. That also he found true love.
And marriage, family, and finally, a life.
Auoda also founded a loving marriage after nearly marrying an unlovely man. And now has the family that she had always dreamed about and wanted. And that Fix also changed from a selfish and greedy man to becoming a more grandfatherly person.

Especially to the Fogg's and the Passepartout's children. As Mildred went from also as being a lonely widow who lost her husband to alzeimers to finding love again in Wilbur.
Despite not wanting to get attention but always in the background..they have one person to thank for it!! Jean Passepartout!!

This story has a little bit of everything. Drama in which the story starts out with.
About a young man who winds up in a loft. Nearly beaten to death but determined to clean onto life.
And found his way into a workaholic young writer. Who seemingly had no life whatsoever outside of work.
But then he would change her life as well as her way of thinking. As also suffering from total amnesia.
And also learning even the smaller things that are taken for granted. Like how to use the restroom. Bathe himeself. Learn how to walk.

Not even knowing that a stove is hot. And that a bananna is yellow. Also with a little bit of comic touch added to it.
To help him through those nearly nine months of grueling as well as exhausting physical and also emotional and mental rehabilitation.
Also romance as there seeming are romantic sparks between the lovable frenchman and the shy but smart writer. As slowly but surely their friendship grows into something much more.
As Passepartout allows Ren to open up her heart as well as emotions much more. Where it was hard for her to do before.
And also to laugh and not take life seriously. That life is precious as well as short.

Also when the good doc showed her the paper in Passepartout's time.
Of having to tell Passepartout the whole truth about his life. His life back in the 19th century. That he was a somebody very, very famous. Which he, at first, of course rejected. When he seemed very, very happy living in the 20th century with Ren.
Then when his time travelling family from that century came back. Including the famous Phileas Fogg. Slowy but surely he came to accept it. But the bad and sad tragedy about this whole entire episode.
That he could(as much as he would love to)and would never, ever remember all of those precious memories of that legendary trip back he made. With his former master and now his wife and former detective's friends.

The characters of the book of Around the World in 80 Days of Passepartout, Phileas, Auoda, & Fix are owned by Jules Verne.
But the story is made by yours truly. Who wanted to add another story to one of my favorite characters of all time. Fiction that is.
With all due respect to Phileas Fogg, I thought there were way, way too many stories about Fogg. And not enough on his Parisian sidekick and valet. So I decided to make one story up adding the character of Passepartout as the lead to the story.
Ren MacCarren and other supporting characters not mention in the book are made up by this author.
Most of this story is based on the 1989 mini-series of the same Jules Verne book on NBC starring Pierce Brosnan and Eric Idle.

The reason Passepartout is my favorite character is that he was the heart and soul. As Phileas was the brains and perhaps even the brawns in the duo.
But also you could say that Passepartout is the unsung hero of Around the World in 80 Days.
Without him, Fogg couldn't and you can bet for sure, wouldn't had made the now legendary trip without this loyal and resourceful servant.
As well as gained a wife and family as well as knowing that despite people thinking he is a cold and distant man.
Passepartout thought otherwise of him. But didn't say it. Passepartout and Phileas Fogg. Servant and Master. Employee and Employer. Legends in childrens' eyes. But Passepartout knew who the real, real star was. Phileas Fogg!
But no amount of wealth could ever, ever replace anything with the one good thing that Passepartout was silently but slowly opening his eyes as well as his heart and soul to. Love and a family.

The Foggs and Fixes also know that despite Passepartout not knowing anything about the trip at all.
Not even one itsy tiny bit of it. They will tell stories to his & now Ren's daughter and son.
About how their daddy was brave to stop the Indians as well as rescued Phileas' wife. And also how he helped Phileas to make his bet in the alloited time of 80 days.
Passepartout as you all can and would tell would want the Foggs and Fixes to tell his children that. Even if he doesn't remember...they sure do.
Ren also despite reading the book and is her favorite book also wants to know first-hand from them as well. Why you say?
Because they lived to tell about it. And they love spoiling along with the Foggs children. Ren and Passepartout's children with love.
As the children look up to Phileas and Auoda as their aunt and uncle. And the Fixes as their grandparents.
And the kids love the fact that their daddy is a legend and a hero. But mainly they love him for one thing. And one thing alone...being their doting daddy.

Acknowlegements: Thanks to the kind & friendly people on the CF Forums for "budding" writers like myself as well as others very talented.
Also writers who should never, ever think about quitting and throwing in the towel. They should preservere and believe in their dreams and pursue.
Also the help of my parents. Together since 1966 and married since 1969. My brother, sister, their spouses, and my five nephews and two nieces.
My whole entire family and relatives.
But most of all...thanks to my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Who died on the cross and saved us from eternal death and a lost and dying world. Jesus is the positive God. :preach:  :prayer:

Also I want to dedicate this to the over 3,000 people who lost their lives on 9/11/01.
As well as those astronaults who perished on February 1 2003. Personally...my grandfather succombed to alzeimers back on August 15th at 81.
He and I would love to talk about sports. And he also was like a "Dear Abby" and gave good advice.
As he did all of his five children, fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandkids. Rest in peace Grandaddy Blackstock 1923-2004.
Also I want to dedicated this to NBC reporter David Bloom. Who put stories as well as emotions unlike others who want to promote for selfish reasons. The last email he wrote to his family a night before entering into God's kingdom. Is that he is at the peak of his success which he could care less. All that matters is his wife, children, and Jesus. RIP David Jerome Bloom 1963-2003. :(

Seven years later 2011. Priscilla Passepartout is with her mom who adopted her. Ren MacCarren as well as her doting daddy Jean Passepartout.
The frenchman made famous in Around the World in 80 Days. Living in the 21st century. Still with long-time amnesia.
Passepartout watches his fifteen year old daughter as she is popular in high school and an honor student.
While his son, Jean-Jules, or JJ for short, happens to be like a comic relief but also sweet like his daddy.
Priscilla gets her shyness but also her sweetness from Ren. Ren and Passepartout have been married for eight years. And had JJ a year and a half into their marriage.

As Passepartout would also take a part-time job as a youth coach at the high school.
A gym coach as well as an English coach of Shakespeare since he was a theatre buff. And still popular with kids at his school.
Still sadly though walking with the huge limp he had when he badly fallen from the skies. From one century to another. His own body and skull broken.
But that hasn't stopped him from being active. But doesn't do things like he used to like a circus performer or a valet.
Ren who travelled probably a lot more like Passepartout in both their earlier years before she met Passepartout.

Now travels about twenty times a week as compared to forty-five times a week. And she brings the whole entire family.
With school promitting for Priscilla. But she makes those trips very, very short. But she writes her daily column as well as already written three books. She took two years off to be a full-time mother. Off books that is. But she wrote one book when she was pregnant.

Having the loft but it is even much bigger. Three bedrooms instead of one and a half. Due to two kids. The kids want a dog or a cat. But Ren's landlady won't let them have both. Against loft rules so the kids are a bit disappointed. But Passepartout is kind of like a playful animals. Tickling the kids as well as playing around with them. Ren also makes sure they do their homework and get that done. Priscilla skipped a class and is on track to graduate at fifteen.
Yale, Harvard, Standford, and Georgetown wants her. Among the fifteen other colleges fighting for her affection.
But she wants to be a normal teenager. And go to the malls and the movies. But also both of her parents want her to not grow up so fast.

And they also have to put a limit in which friends she should hang out with.
How long she could talk on the phone with. Spend the night with her friends. Also not allow her to watch that much tv. God, family, community, and education was the most important in her life. And if she wasn't also busy enough even also she had ballet as well as gymanstics class.
Also she went every Saturday with her church youth group to her community.
Either helping retarded children or senior citizens shut in. Named it and she did it. As with her parents one Saturday every week.
Helping a neighbor with her house, rake leaves, as well as visit at the Boys and Girls clubs or Senior citizens.
For the holidays, they volunteer at a soup kitchen or bring presents to shelters and children's homes.

As Passeparotout and Ren also made one thing clear for both of their children. No tv during the dinner hour. It was devoted to family and bible devotions.
Priscilla would go to bed usually at 8:00 pm but since she was getting older, that changed to 9:00 pm.
She as well as little JJ could stay up a little late on Fridays and Saturdays.
Sundays though was church time and family time. And still diehard footbal fan Ren would watch some games.
They encouraged their children to do their homework on Fridays so that they could spend the rest of the weekend free.

Ren and Passepartout wanted to make sure that their children grow up normal and also wanted them to learn the meaning of humility, humbleness, and modesty. As well as also making a difference in their community. And also spending their time when they weren't going to dance recitials, with their friends or volunteering as a family. On the weekends, they would spend their time if they were free going to the library. Their favorite activity as well as also going to the theatre and operas. Passepartout's favorite activity. Or even taking in an NFL game, Ren's favorite. Also JJ was becoming great at the guitar and piano.

As he was the most musical in the family. Unlike most families which would not find enough time together. The four of them spent time doing things together. As well as also having a great time and talking about their lives.
What they are doing and who they are hanging out with. Also two times a month...Dr Shaw and Harris with their time machine would help them visit the Foggs and their now six children and the Fixes.
Visit them in their century in the late 1800's. And the Foggs and Fixes visiting them one time a month. In the twenty-first century.
Also sharing holidays, birthdays, dinners. And sometimes Dr Shaw would take care of Priscilla and JJ when Passepartout and Ren went out on a dinner and a movie date.

Or just a weekend together. Either in a cabin, or a hotel. One time they spent ten days in England and France. And also a ten day cruise.
While Ren's parents or the Foggs and Fixes would take care of the kids. The same with Passepartout and Ren and their children.
Taking care of the Fogg's six kids when Phileas and Auoda was out on a vacation or a little weekend getaway.
Sometimes the Foggs, Fixes, and the Passepartouts would triple date with either the kids or without them letting Ren's parents or Dr Shaw and his wife taking care of eight kids all at once.
Even the laidback Harris loved it. It was like the all wonderful family for Ren & Passepartout. Living the family dream and hoping nothing but the best for their kids. And their childrens' children.
