A HIGHLY sensitive person with struggles club

I wouldn't be so bad if I was bi-polor, I lose control most of the time of my emotions. The doctors say that nothing is wrong with me, but I feel their is.

A lot of others I know who struggle with being oversensitive are also coincidentally the youngest in their families. Do you think there's a connection?

I am the baby of my family, and at 34 years old, my family still affects me a lot at holidays & family gatherings. It's definitely a struggle that I've prayed about.

Also, I agree that sensitivity and EMPATHY go hand-in-hand. I have the unfortunate trait of being too empathetic & "absorbing" other people's moods as a result. Hence, this is why my husband & I are currently separated. Since he's left the house over a week ago, I've been in a much better place mentally & spiritually. I know it's not realistic to live alone the rest of my life because of this, though, LOL! It's nice to read others who are in the same boat as me with our emotions & feelings. I've also just started back up with a women's Bible study at church (Beth Moore - LOVE her!), so being around 60-70 cheerful, caring, Christian women of all ages/races/sizes really lifts my spirits!

This thread really brings things to light for me, God bless you for starting such a club.

Thank you so much dear one and I am SO glad that you came!!!! YEP you are ALOT like me...peoples moods effect me the most!!! AND my PMS whew...that really effects me! Heck I get effected by even gloomy weather. OR if someone is "short" with me meaning that they snap at me!!!
I am so glad that you are here!!!! HEY I am going to be 32 in 2 months and I am STILL single!!!! I guess that I am WAY too senstive to be married...BUT that is JESUS's will for me!

I know the feeling dude and I think I even tried forcing "insensitivity" at times...but it doesn't work! Just be yourself. As I can tell you with experiences with my dad that boys aren't *allowed* to be sensitive. I went thru a lot trying to "beef up" for my dad. I failed at that too. Best to just be who you are and let people see the real you.

how's it going? not great over here. Its that time of the month again, and the past few months i've been experiencing the PMS thing for almost 2 weeks before AF starts! All I wanna do is go home and sleep and I'm answering call after call here at work.

It is a blessing to be highly sensitive or even sensitive for that matter. Its sad that you think highly sensitivity is annoying. The way I feel about it is that God gives people certain gifts.
If you really don't feel like you are highly sensitive then you shouldn't bother posting to this thread.

JOIN THE CLUB dear one...PMS is slowly begining for me as well!!!! I hate it...PLUS on top of that my counselor says that my medication will take 2 more weeks til it takes effect...so that will even highten my sensitivity! God bless you and PLEASE hang in there if you should need ANYTHING PLEASE let me know!!!!

Greetings all...I do not know if you want to call this a meeting of us SENSITIVE FOLK BUT I have a question for you all.
Here is the following situation:

For the last month my boss's wife is UNBAREABLE..... She will come in and be very kind and start up a long conversation with me THEN the VERY next day she says HELLO in a REALLY warm manner to EVERYONE ELSE but me. With me she just glances @ me and walks way. I AM SICK OF IT...this lady KNOWS that I am HIGHLY SENSITIVE....heck she saw me read my Highly Sensitive book.....
Here is my question for you all. PLEASE describe how you would feel about this?

Wow, that womps, Sensitive. I would feel left out...if it happened to me...she seems to be sometimey...I don't like sometimey ppl...that's what it sounds like to me...btw, cute purple dress for your CF character
