I really don't think at this stage in my life I could date anyone older then 30. So I'm with you on that.

But I also agree maturity is an important factor to look at.

Part of this, for me at least, is the impact of the kids on their lives. I dated one gal, when we were alone, things were fine, around her kids, different story, and she was a single mom who had her kids more often then not.

I know this may be slightly OT but women who only go after younger men are pigs. I'm sorry to be blunt but it's disgusting. The same for men who go after much younger women.

As far as this couple, they seem pretty nice. But how would people feel if they broke up in a year? That's not unlikely in Hollywood.

I don't see anything wrong with it (either way).......I think if the people are mature enough and are compatible.....then go for it. Who cares? Life is too short.

And again, I'll say.....they both seem like cool, grounded people, so I think they've got a shot. But that's just my opinion.

You know, the only reason we think that marriages don't last in Hollywood is really because celebrities are much higher profile. I would suspect the divorce rate is roughly the same as in the general population. But for some examples of long term Hollywood marriages: Bob and Dolores Hope, for example, were married for almost 70 years (!!) when Bob Hope died. There's also Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward; Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy. Good Hollywood marriages exist, we just hear about the bad ones.

Yes, that's true......the good marriages aren't reported about, because it's boring info. Another good marriage in Hollywood is Mark Harmon & Pam Dawber......that's another cool, grounded couple.

As far as consistently chasing after someone much younger, I kind of see your point--- but I think that anyone who completely rules out someone they've met who could potentially be a fantastic match for them only because of an age difference is doing themselves a great disservice.

I think it's better for people to keep themselves "open to the possibilities" of whatever crosses their paths.

I think it's just a classic case of an older woman enjoying the benefits and attributes of a younger man and making it out to be something more because of that fact.

I watched Dan In Real Life last night and heard the phrase "if you're open to love it will find you" and think that's really true. To me, it's a mindset of passively pursuing a romantic relationship. I'm open and available to whatever comes my way, but I'm not seeking it actively and getting stressed out when I don't find it.

I just wanted to add......what I find attractive in a guy, is sense of self, and a 'whole person in themselves' that they don't look for other's to complete them. Johnny Depp is very much like that, too. He's always been 'himself' and never really cared what other people thought of him, either.

But, to take it a 'step further', to be christ centered and have humility, is that much more for me!!!
