a giant black line on the computer screen

So I was crazy and tried to download some stuff to make my computer go faster. This was Saturday (It is now Monday and there is a giant black line on the screen over on the right side. How do I get it to go away?

My advice, you should stay away from anything that says "Your computer is going to be faster".You should leave a picture to make an idea about your problem.

Try to uninstall the program used to "make your computer faster".

That big line is made up of dead/fixed pixels. These appear a lot on older computer screens.

If this happened just after you installed then I would uninstall the program and then do a clean uninstall of your graphics driver and program. Then reinstall the drivers.

If the line is a vertical stripe or an inch wide block of vertical line distortion then it sounds like you lost a column driver on your monitor. It's basically metal teeth that are glued together. When the glue fails they don't make good contact any more. When that happens it's time for a new monitor. Plug your monitor into another pc first to be sure its the monitor before you buy a new one.
