A few Questions

Acts 2:4 says that they began to speak in OTHER tongues.
Now go on to read verses 5-13. This explains that they were speaking in languages that they initially could not speak. They were given the gift of other tongues to spread the "mighty works of Yahweh" to the visitors from other nations.

In Acts even the gentiles recieved the gift of tounges. so far in my life i havent met anyone who is saved who has recieved that particular gift. does anyone know y ? how come people dont have the gift of tounges today as well? and im not into that charismatic stuff.

I have experienced a gift of tongues, in that someone came to my door, and I prayed that the Holy Spirit would talk to Him about the truth, and when I opened my door to the travelling encyclopedia salesman, I started to tell him about the truth and the Holy Spirit took over. Through me, the message of God was told to this encyclopedia man until His head glowed like Him was coming down from Mount Sinai. It was an incredible experience.

isnt the gift of tounges supposed to be the ability to speak in languages u couldnt speak previously? and not like jibberish but say chinese or whatever

That was my experience. This man was spiritually uplifted into a deeper security into the truth as the Holy Spirit convicted him, and he was Pentacostal believer. I think that day he learned the difference.
