Hi.
I have recently began injuring myself and I haven't told anyone except a few people on here. It started out of curiosity and later developed into a form of punishment for myself and a way to release emotion.
I just had a few questions relating to this:
Do people tend to freak out when they find out that someone is a cutter?
Is it a good idea for someone to know? I kinda have the feeling that I am going to get a yes to this one... but I don't really want anyone to know at the moment. Especially my parents.
Sorry if I broke any rules. I have only posted in this area once.

. To answer your questions, a lot of people tend to freak out when they find out that someone self-harms, but it's what they do from there that counts. Some people will freak out and back off because they don't understand in and it scares them, while others will try to understand it because they don't want you to hurt. Some people won't care when you tell them, while others will ask you to stop. Some advice I would try to give would be that people tend to freak a lot less if you explain what's going on so they understand. We're a lot less afraid of the things we understand.
I am not extremely close to anyone.
