Here's a few questions i have, out of curiousity.

-How does Christianity effect you life?

-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?

-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?

-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason? How does christianity involved in this process?

-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?

-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?

-How do you feel about evolution? How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?

-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?

-How do interpet the old testament? Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?

-What demonation are you and why did you choose that one over any other one?

-Do you have any final words or comments?

thanks for your time I appreciatet hose who will(if any do) take the time to answer all of these.

Here's a few questions i have, out of curiousity.
That's quite a lot of questions, considering that most of them deserve in-depth answers.

-How does Christianity effect you life?
It might be simpler to answer "how doesn't it".

-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?
Not really.

-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?
It was never a concious choice I had to make. I grew up very much on the fringes of the church, but the choice at the time was to stay on the fringe, become involved properly, or walk away entirely. There wasn't, at the time, any other faith on offer in my villiage; the only choices available were Anglican, "Evangelical" free church, URC, or nothing. God led me into the church not away from it, and (for the most part) has kept me there.

-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason?
Very useful methodologies.

How does christianity involved in this process?
I'm not sure what you are asking.
-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?
The focus isn't on the pebble, but on us - as the one creature (if we are the only one) that is capable of making good and/or bad choices. We are the ones made in the image of God, with the intention that we would choose to act in appropriate response to that. The rest of creation is God's extravagant way of creating that which we are intended to be the pinacle of.

-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?
Big question to which a full response would be excessive. Short version: The possibility of evil has to exist for the possibility of good to exist. The possibility of suffering has to exist for responses to that to exist, and the growth that those responses produce to come about. That is not to suggest that God wishes any individual instance of evil or suffering to come about.

-How do you feel about evolution?
A solid well evidenced, scientific theory about the development of life. And a fact, but I presume you are asking about the theory.
Science describes the mechanisms of the universe. Theology is about the Creator of the universe. (Genesis is about theology, not science.)

How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?
I wasn't aware that there was any solid evidence, but I'm completely open to the possibility of life elsewhere. The possibility of consious, self-aware, life (that can choose right from wrong) outside humanity raises some very interesting questions whether that is found in a distant galaxy or here at home amongst, say, dolphins or gorillas. Or, come to that, if we create such outselves.

-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?
I'm interested in learning whatever I can from any viewpoint. Truth is truth, wherever it is found.
-How do interpet the old testament?
With difficulty at times. Can you be more specific?
The Old Testament is a record of God's interaction through history with Israel - the nation intended to be his light to the rest of creation and his means of redemption. The New Testament documents that process finally coming to pass in the person of Jesus Christ (the nation itself having failed over and over to live up to its vocation), and the consequences of that. As such the NT throws new light on the OT as the OT sets the stage for the NT.

Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?
The bible is a collection of different genres of writing. Each text (and any given book many contain several genres) needs to be treated as the type of literature it is. If you treat the Oxford English Dictionary as a cookery book it's not going to work very well. If you treat Genesis 1 as "History" (in the modern sense) it's not going to work very well. The book of Acts, on the other hand, is getting close to history as we generally understand it.

-What demonation are you
Anglican

and why did you choose that one over any other one?
Historical accident (see above). I stick with it because it's one that doesn't expect one to stop thinking for oneself, but rather expects one to do so and respects the fact that that may lead to considerable diversity.

-Do you have any final words or comments?
I would say no, but then that would be a word, so I would have been lying.;)

-How does Christianity effect you life?
I gives me confidence in the One Who is greater than any other.
-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?
I view them as I viewed myself.
-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?
I have confidence in christianity.
-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason? How does christianity involved in this process?
These things are God given.
-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?
I believe He did it this way so we could only find Him according to the "Way" He chose.
Ecc 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?
These are the result of the fall of mankind.
-How do you feel about evolution? How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?
I believe the theory of evolution is false and that the biblical account is true.
As for evidence for life on mars, I have no thoughts at this time.
-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?
I am closed minded concerning the validity of other faiths and consider them to be false teachings.
-How do interpet the old testament? Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?
I interpret the bible literally.
-What demonation are you and why did you choose that one over any other one?
I am of no denomination. For me, denominalationism is'nt necessary.
-Do you have any final words or comments?
not at this time.
thanks for your time I appreciatet hose who will(if any do) take the time to answer all of these
You are absolutely welcome and God bless you.

-How does Christianity effect you life?

It keeps me content, and it allows me to trust my life to God. Also, as an earlier person said, "how doesn't it?". It truly does affect all aspects of my life and is my no means a burden. It has most certainly made my life better.

-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?

I view them as people who NEED to experience God's love for them, and people who I want to see turn to God. I try not to judge them at all, and I try to love them as the Bible says we should.

-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?

This is the only religion whose founder has an empty tomb (for just one of many reasons). And once you feel God's love, you will know that this is the truth.

-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason? How does christianity involved in this process?

If science is done properly (observation and verification), it will do nothing but corroborate the Bible. When science has been done properly, it has not conflicted with the Bible.

-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?

I have heard a minister preach on this subject. He says that after we are in heaven, we will rule and reign over the universe with Jesus and God.

-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?

God gave us freedom of choice. He gives us the choice to commit evil acts, and he also gives us the choice to commit acts of great love. If one has the capacity to do a deed of great love, they also have the capacity to do a deed of great evil. It is simply freedom of choice, God gives us the choice to choose him or to turn away from him. To create us all only to be robots would not really accomplish a whole lot.

-How do you feel about evolution? How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?

I don't think there is any reason why life on Mars would contradict Christianity. Man is the only creature God created in his likeness. In regards to evolution, I think that evolution is a theory, just a theory (nothing proven).

-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?

I do consider other viewpoints (usually just different interpretations of scripture; questions within the faith), but if they are in direct contradiction to what I believe or know to be true, then I typically will not get involved with them.

-How do interpet the old testament? Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?

Literally for the most part, although there are a lot of metaphors in the Bible (Jesus's teaching of parables, maybe some of the book of revelation is written in metaphorical language, etc)

-What demonation are you and why did you choose that one over any other one?

I am a Lutheran, although I wouldn't say I am dead-set in one manifesto of beliefs regarding the Christian faith. I have recently started attending a Pentecostal church and Lutheran church each week, and I find it helpful to my faith to do so.

-Do you have any final words or comments?

Please pray the following prayer I got from allaboutgod.com, and if you mean the prayer from your heart you will have a miracle worked in your life:

"Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."

Hmm... a survey; sounds interesting. Hope you don't mind if I try it.

-How does Christianity effect you life?

Well, it definitely has an impact on my choices, such as abstinence and helping others. Also, I am in college learning to become a "Director of Christian Education", I'm planning on working for the church as well, so it has impacted my career choice also.

-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?

I have some non-Christian friends at school (atheists, wiccan, pagan, etc.), and, to be honest, I may judge them from time to time, but it's not usually based on their faith (I judge Christians too), but it's because I have this nasty tendency to do that every now and then (shame on me...).

-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?

Eh, I didn't really "choose" this religion, because I was born into it, but I haven't changed religions either because I have not seen anything in any other religions (or other Christian denominations, for that matter) that would make me want to change faiths/beliefs. I've studied other religions too, both in and out of the classroom, and I'd have to say that none of the other faiths "call" out to me, or make me feel like that is the 'right choice', if that makes any sense...

-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason? How does christianity involved in this process?

I'll take Science separate from Logic and Reason...
Science: I honestly do not have any qualms with 'science', except for the slight fear of us developing an unstoppable AI that will take over the world (I know, sounds silly, but there are some pretty creepy stories that I've read). Christianity's involvement: Honestly, there has yet to be anything truly conclusive to either prove or disprove God's 'existence', and I am perfectly satisfied with that; if God is either "proven" or "disproven", then it will ruin the aspect of faith for many religions, not just Christianity (since Jews and Muslims also believe in the same God).
Logic & Reason: Both are needed, to an extent. Sure, we can have "Blind faith" and just accept everything God tells us to do, via pastor or other religious sources. But, when one just rides along in the faith, not really thinking at all but just doing, then you have what happened during the Middle Ages, where the Church would basically tell people to do whatever, and the people would willingly listen without thinking twice, since it's "the Church" and "God would smite them", etc... Christians honestly need to think about their faith, and try to either put to words, or help define, why they are a Christian. I've been doing that these past couple of years, and it has definitely been an experience (neither good nor bad, just an experience lol).

-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?

To be honest, I dunno. I was planning on asking Him that when I go to Heaven. Is there a Heaven? I dunno. But I'm going to believe that it's there till my last breath lol

-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?

Why does evil exist? if the "absence of God" does not work for you... I wouldn't know what else to say. Evil is a relative term, too; the actions of one person (let's say, a "terrorist") be seen as evil by some, whereas others see the actions as God-inspired. What do we say as to why evil exists? Again, I dunno. Unfortunately (for the sake of these surveys), a lot of what I believe in Christianity is taken on faith, and doesn't really have a "logical" answer to them. Sometimes, the only thing I can say is "I dunno, I'll pray about it". It sucks, but it's life :S

-How do you feel about evolution? How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?

Evolution as in a fish giving birth to a lizard giving birth to a bird, sounds kinda silly to me; I mean, how can one animal give birth to an entirely different species of animal? Or, rather, how could several of the same specie of animal give birth to enough of another species of animal so that the 'new' species would be able to procreate and keep its own species alive?
Evolution as in adaptation, where a moth changes color so that it can blend into its surrounding, while the moth still stays the same species of moth, now that makes more sense. Everything has to adapt to its environment to survive.
The evidence of life on Mars... well, the fact that there's a slight chance for frozen water to be there, or that it could've had a similar atmosphere (idk, i can't really remember all the evidence that they've revealed)... what I do remember, just doesn't seem to quite cut it in my personal opinion. But, whether or not there was life, it appears that there is no more life there, so idk... haven't really thought about it.

-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?

I doubt daily. It's a part of life. I mean, I know that there are things about life that are very frustrating, and I'd wish that God would make it easier for me, but ultimately I just have to trust in Him in the long run.
I used to be very closed-minded (and to a point, still am), but since i've began studying other religions, I have been trying to see what their stances are, what Christian stances are, and then seeing which one seem to be "correct" to me.

-How do interpet the old testament? Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?

Philosophically, or literally.. Well, I wouldn't quite say "philosophically", but more "theologically", since the Bible isn't so much about philosophy as it is theology (but, don't quote me on that lol)... I tend to read it, think about it, and see whether it should be taken literally or theologically, b/c there's an aspect of both in the Bible. Can't be pure fundamentalist, or pure interpretive; it has aspects of both. As for the OT, the best thing I have to say for it is that it is still as applicable today as when it was first written, and that the New Testament does NOT replace the Old Testament; both have importance to our lives.

-What demonation are you and why did you choose that one over any other one?

I am a Lutheran, more specifically a Missouri-Synod Lutheran (just as an FYI, a 'synod' is basically a faction of the church; there are several different synods in the Lutheran church, but the LCMS, or the one I'm associated with, is like the 2nd or 3rd largest of the synods). I chose it b/c I was born into the synod, and I still choose it b/c again it makes the most sense to me, as I look into other synod's doctrines.

-Do you have any final words or comments?

Thank you for letting me do this interesting survey. I know it's extremely long, and there are some points that I feel that I fudged a bit on, but I tried my best to answer the questions fully and honestly. I hope my answers are good lol... Eitherway, take care, and enjoy the forums!

Here's a few questions i have, out of curiousity.
I sure hope you read what I have to say, because I'd hate to be typing all of this for nothing. :)

-How does Christianity effect you life?
I view things in a very different way than I would as a nonChristian. My whole perspective of life is centered on the Kingdom of God and its furtherance on the earth, starting with my own behavior.

-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?
I view nonChristians as potential Christians. I believe that if they could see who and what Jesus is, they would not reject Him. I do think different of them, because they are different. They do not have the Holy Spirit in them; they have not been made alive in their spirits through Christ; they cannot come to the Father nor overcome sin. That all makes me sad, and quite angry with the devil and his minions. I don't like to see people ripped off like that, but of course I see it just about every day.

-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?
I had the blessing to be raised in a Christian home, so for me it was always a choice of Jesus or nothing. For a while I chose nothing, and I was sad and empty and useless during that time. I got to a point at which the only things that seemed spiritually real to me were the prayers of my mother - I knew that she was praying that whatever it took, no matter what crisis in my life, that I would be brought to HIM. Let me tell you, there were lots of crises. I used to beg her to stop praying, because I felt like her prayers were causing all of my problems. I did make some attempts at spirituality through Taoism and various kinds of sorcery, but deep inside I knew that this was EVIL, and I could not bear to stay with it for long. I finally decided to return "to the church" (that was how I said it), and the closer I got, the more the love of God drew me in.......

-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason? How does christianity involved in this process?
Science, logic, and reason were invented by God. Studying creation shows the glory of God in His genius. To separate my faith from anything I do or pursue would be a false separation.

-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?
Thus says the LORD,
"Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool.
Where then is a house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that I may rest?
For My hand made all these things,
Thus all these things came into being, declares the LORD.
But to this one I will look,
To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
(Isaiah 66:1-2)

-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?
God gave man dominion over the earth, but man does not wield that dominion in a profitable/beneficial way. In many cases, man gives his dominion over to the enemy, who lies, steals, kills, destroys, and oppresses.

-How do you feel about evolution? How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?
I think evolution was the theory of a godless man - who (I believe I've read) eventually turned to God and recanted. Many very immenent scientists, even many who are not Christian, have rejected evolution, at least on the macro- scale. It mainly continues to persist in science classrooms and messageboards. There is not (if I remember the recent findings correctly) really evidence of life on Mars. If there were, it wouldn't really effect my beliefs much. After all, God made Mars too.

-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?
I am open to all God has to show me. And He shows me a lot. I have momentary doubts, but I don't let them nest in my proverbial hair - I realize that doubt is a weed to be pulled. (okay, I'm mixing metaphors now, but you get the idea) It is not noble to look for ultimate Truth if it can never be found, and certainly not once it is found.

-How do interpet the old testament? Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?
It depends upon the type of literature. There are obvious metaphors in the Bible, and there are bits of history too. I interpret the Old Testament in light of the New, knowing that Jesus fulfills the Law and the Prophets.

-What demonation are you and why did you choose that one over any other one?
I am a charismatic non-denominational. I choose to be a charismatic, because there is always an openness to more of God's involvement in that doctrine. I do not believe God to be nonpersonal and uninvolved. I am "non-denominational" because the church I chose to attend is not affiliated with any denomination through doctrine, but rather with a group of other churches through relationship. I rather like that.

I hope this has helped you to understand some things.....

blessings in Jesus

Here's a few questions i have, out of curiousity.

-How does Christianity effect you life?

It's a basis for thought and action. A way of understanding life, the universe, and all that.

-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?

I view them as fellow seekers after the truth and purpose of being.

-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?

Familiarity mostly. Its the religion I first learned. I've studied others, and found much meaning in them, but its a bit like speaking a foreign language. One can develop some skill in it, but one always feels more at home in one's mother tongue. So I respect other religions, but I express my own faith in the religion I know best.

-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason? How does christianity involved in this process?

Fully supportive. These are great projects through which humanity can learn so much about the world God made and about God.

-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?

Well, we don't know that we are the only pebble in the pond. There could be other worlds inhabited by beings somewhat like us.

If there are not--if ours is indeed the only world filled with intelligent life--I think that is the explanation for God focusing on us in particular. We are unique.

-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?

The classic problem of evil. No short and simple answer to this one. But no, it is not about an absence of God. It is much easier though to say what is the wrong answer than to come up with a right answer.

-How do you feel about evolution? How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?

The first time I read a proper description of evolution I thought, "How amazing! So that's how God did it!" Life on mars is exciting.

-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?

I consider lots of other viewpoints. I enjoy interfaith dialogue and have studied most of the great world faiths, though none as deeply as I would really like to.

-How do interpet the old testament? Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?

For a Christian, the main thing is to interpret the Old Testament in light of the revelation of Christ. My approach is more on the philosophical side. I am indebted to C.S. Lewis for introducing me to the concept of "true myth". I have found reading the bible in terms of its literary genres (including but not limited to myth) very very helpful to understanding it.

-What demonation are you and why did you choose that one over any other one?

I am not a very denominational person. I was raised in the United Church of Canada. I have spent a good deal of my life with the Presbyterian Church in Canada, including 10 years on national staff. I have been a member of a Baptist church and worshipped in every type of congregation from Pentecostal to Roman Catholic. I currently worship with an Anglican congregation. Mostly I choose a congregation on the basis of its friendly attitude and interesting activities.

-Do you have any final words or comments?

I hope you are enjoying these posts. Why did you decide to ask these questions?

Here's a few questions i have, out of curiousity.

-How does Christianity effect you life?

It affects every part of my life, as I try to be what jesus wants me to be in every situation. And, I can only do that because I have the certainty that He not only guides me, but also picks me up and forgives me when I get it wrong!

-How do you view non-christians? Do you tend to judge them or think different of them because of their different faith?

I have many non-christian friends, who i love and respect. I also prat that they will come to know God. but i am in no position to judge them - I am saved by the grace of God, and not through anyting I have done!

-I'm curious why do you choose this religion, over any other one?

I have studied other religions, and was agnostic for a long time. But Jesus is the only one who offers redemption! All the other religions I know require me to save myself, by my own actions and attitudes. And I can't do that - I mess up all the time! Jesus offers forgiveness because of what He did, not what I do!

-How do you view and what's your attitude on science, logic, and reason? How does christianity involved in this process?

I am a science teacher, so obviously, I am in favour of science! My faith tells me 'who', science tells me 'how'. And the more I study and find out about how the world works, the more I see the hand of the creator!
Logic and reason are given to us by God - being a Christian does not involve turning off your brain!

-Why did God creat such a huge void such as the Universe yet, he focuses so much on this one little "pebble in the pond" as I call it?

Because it is His nature to create! And because He loves us.

-If God created everything why does things such as evil, pain, exist, etc. Some people argue that this is caused by an absence of God, yet i'm still very skeptical?

God gave us free will. And we make wrong choices - which lead to bad things happening. But He also gave us a way out!

-How do you feel about evolution? How do you feel about the evidence of life on mars?

I believe that organisms adapt to suit their environment. I do not, however, believe that humans developed ultimately from a single-celled organism. But then, I didn't believe that before I was a Christian!
As to life on Mars, or any other planet, God is creative! It is quite possible that he created life on any number of planets - I don't know!

-Do you, as a christian, ever doubt or consider other viewpoints or are you close-minded in the name of faith?

Now, I do not ever doubt God -, because I know Him, and see Him working in so many ways. But I am willing to learn from others, and have studied other religions. And have learnt valuable lessons from people of other faiths, and indeed of no faith.

-How do interpet the old testament? Do you generally interpert the bible literately or more philosophical?

The Old testament is a history book, charting the story of the people of Israel. And yes, I do take it literally. Though some books are stories and poems rather than history, and therefore more open to interpretation.

-What demonation are you and why did you choose that one over any other one?

I do not belong to any denomenation. The church of which I am a member is a christian church, with no denomenational affiliation. Though in the past i have been a member of Anglican and methodist churches. I don't think it matters what label you put on it, as long as Christ is central.

-Do you have any final words or comments?

Yes - God loves you! And I hope that these answers help you to consider what you believe!
God bless you.

Christianity effects my life totally. Since Jesus is my personal Lord and Savior He gave me the Holy Spirit and so how I look at the world is totally different. Its by a biblical worldview.

I look at nonchristians as a soul that needs salvation and I pray for them that they may know God some day.

I choose christianity because the Bible is the most true book in the world. Evidence Demands A Verdict by Josh McDowell would stand up in a court of law and Examine the Evidence by Muncaster (a formal athiest and now a christian). These are objective facts about the bible and have to be outright ignored to deny it.

My view on science is this - www.reasons.org - it combines science and faith. A guy with a PhD in Chemistry started it. I'm a chemist myself and the more I know about science the more it verifys that there is a Creator of all things. God's Fingerprints is a great book -the best one for verifying a Creator with science.

Evolution? Microevolution is true and some macroevolution. The farce is that something came from nothing - this isn't even scientifically possible.

No, I don't consider any other religion. This is like asking me to consider other things that I know don't even remotely have any real evidence compared to the Bible. Its like asking me to consider the notion that the color of a banana is purple and not yellow - this doesn't exist.

The bible is a literal book - Gods Word isn't a bunch of confusing riddles.

Your entire response was great but, I do want to point something out and question you on you opnion. If by "recanted" your refering to the Darwin's "death bed recantation theory" which has been disproven to be a myth quite awhile ago. Here is an article by creationists... http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v18/i1/darwin_recant.asp

Also I'm curious did you ever personally study evolution? Do you know of any "non-religious" scientists that denounce evolution? In conclusion in their is micro-evolution wouldn't it make sense there in one way or another is marco-evolution?

Hi.
I studied evolution as part of my zoology degree.
that was about twenty years ago - at the time there was a small but vocal group of zoologists who supported a theory called 'spontaneous creation'! ie - they didn't believe in God, but thought that 'something' must have created life, as evolution didn't really stand up to scientific scrutiny!
Don't know if this idea persists - it seemed mad to me at the time!
You could try googling it if you're interested.

thanks - I'm glad you responded back to me - but why to the most boring (imho) section? LOL...... seriously, I know, you probably don't think it's boring at all. Personally, I think that God was the only One there at the beginning, so only He could answer questions about it. All we can do is theorize about those things (where's the scientific method in that?) - I'd rather just leave it in God's hands.....

Yes, I've heard both sides of this argument....... My only hope is that Darwin died a believer in atonement with God through Christ Jesus.
Also I'm curious did you ever personally study evolution?
That would be impossible, lol - oh, you mean, did I study the theory? Not in depth, never found it that interesting. At one time I believed it.
Do you know of any "non-religious" scientists that denounce evolution?
If you had asked me this maybe fifteen years ago, I might have some names for you. Again, I lost interest.

Not to me.

The farce is that something came from nothing - this isn't even scientifically possible.

I am really really puzzled on why you would say it is a farce.

I was always taught in my church that only God is eternal. God created everything that is not God. And God created it from nothing.

If God created from something, that something is also eternal, a second god, as it were.

So creation out of nothing is one of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity.

So why say it is a farce if science seems to be confirming that the universe did come from nothing? It seems to me that science is just catching up with what Christians have been saying for 2000 years. Isn't that a good thing?
