I'm a rising senior in high school reading through the applications for the colleges I plan to apply to this upcoming school year, and I'm enjoying some of the questions more than I thought I would!!! The new Common App that most universities in the US use just went live on August 1, and so I'm going through everything now. Okay, so for those who are unfamiliar with the Common App, you fill out the application itself which includes the standard essays prompts, and then you also complete the supplement for each college application you're submitting. Most colleges require a few more essays, some short essay questions, and short responses. Some seem more like survey questions you'd find on social media.
I thought it would be fun to ask a few of the brief response questions for Princeton's supplement. If anyone is interested I'll ask some of the more interesting short response questions from the supplements for other schools.

(I might answer colors instead since as an artist they are a HUGE source of inspiration to me, or dance since it's also so motivating for me and sparks my creativity. But yeah, my parents are my most fundamental inspiration)

This captures my favorites from the summer day when I was sixteen and created the OP. Arcade Fire has tattooed itself on my heart and will probably forever be my favorite band, but I'd respond to all the other questions differently now. I decided against applying to Princeton so I never submitted this questionnaire.

I'm bumping this thread now with the hope others might be interested in it and respond.

Haha. Oh gosh I was convinced my dream college would reject me and think I was a weirdo for my responses to their supplemental questions and essays. I wrote an entire essay essentially about my obsession with the color green.
They still admitted me....... surreally.

Have you ever seen the "Cups" covers of "Radioactive" on YouTube? Some loathe them, some love them. The covers are definitely not as good as the original but are kinda fun.

My grandma's cookie jar. She used to swat my hand and tell me to keep my cabbage collectors out of the jar (which she always had stuffed with homemade cookies) but at the same time, she would stuff cookies into my pockets with a mischievous grin.

I would have to say my dad is my most favourite source of inspiration. My mom is a close second. My dad can inspire me like no one else...he can challenge me and get under my skin like no one else. I hope that I have gleaned all his goodness and kindness and wisdom. I hope that I can strive to be like him and be able to be used by The Lord in mighty ways.

My favourite movie: 1) Road to Redemption; 2) God's Not Dead; 3) The Sound of Music; 4) Woman in Gold; 5) Gravity (by the way, I usually do not watch many movies).

My favourite website: I use many different website for different purposes. Christian-related: gotquestions.org; 412teens.org; biblegateway.com. News: bbc.com; euronews.com; france24.com. Dictionary: oxforddictionaries.com. Chess: chess.com. General knowledge: en.wikipedia.org and, of course, google.co.uk.

Two adjectives my friends would use to describe me: I cannot really choose only two. Any of the following could apply (greatly depending on the situation): intelligent, smart, knowledgeable, unknowledgeable, know-it-all, hypocrite, closed-minded, open-minded, nice, friendly, welcoming, annoying, crazy, helpful, unhelpful, sexist, chauvinistic, homophobic, shy, afraid, introverted, wise, responsible, irresponsible, strict, relaxing, tolerant, intolerant, sensitive, insensitive, peculiar, weird... I could go on. You may notice that some of these are antonyms: again, it greatly depends on the situation.

Many of these I only like because of their British spellings and/or British pronunciations.
