@Michie , what are your thoughts? Will the Pope after Francis be the Antichrist? As a Catholic myself, I am skeptical, but if worse comes to worse, I put Jesus above anything that comes out of the Pope's or Vatican's mouth.

Catholics really do not hold any concrete end time views. There are many anti-Christs from all of history to this day. Our view as I have observed is Christ can come back for any one of us at anytime. Be ready. Keep your lamps filled or be left outside the wedding banquet door.

I understand, and will always follow Jesus cos we never know the hour of return.

Also, is it okay for me as a Catholic to not put much trust into the Pope or future Popes? I trust the Eucharist, but not so much any Papal figure. Some Catholics might be a bit more laid back on this, while others may strictly heed the Pope.

A pope rarely speaks infallibly. We have had bad popes throughout history. Pope as humans are just like the rest of us. What we see with Pope Francis is disturbing but he has not spoke infallibly. He has opinions and makes mistakes like the rest of us. So if I disagree, I disagree. We need to rely on the infallible teaching of the Church. We respect the office of the pope. Of course Jesus in #1 but we also need to remember that Jesus established the office of pope. Remember when Jesus spoke of the religious leaders of of His time? The Church is not Sola Scriptura. We take into account history, tradition along with Sacred Scripture to connect the dots. The Bible is too often used as a book of puzzles to be solved and use it to promote false predictions and prophecies. Anyone can cherry pick and turn it into something it isn’t. It makes people stumble or completely walk away from our faith and that is where the millstones come into play.

There is also the catechism to refer to that is chock full of Scripture to back up everything it teaches. I recommend that for those trying to learn or understand.

Well Catholics pretty much have the same view as the Orthodox on that area. It does not matter what your friend thinks concerning this issue. This topic has been going on for ages. I have lots of Protestant and Orthodox friends. I try to let my actions speak for themselves.

That is pretty good. For myself, I just try to spread the main message of the Bible (forgiveness, honesty, integrity) and tell people about Jesus through my actions.

So, God`s word says that the `10 horns are 10 kings.` (Rev. 17: 9) No personal interpretation there.
