If the guy had been gay, and said some ignorant remarks about straight people, pretty sure he wouldn't be suspended from the show for his remarks. Most of you people would agree he should not get suspended either if a gay man made such remarks about straight sex.

It's a double standard in society. Woman calls a man fat, it's okay. Man calls a woman fat, all of a sudden he needs to go to sensitivity training. Woman says a man's butt is cute, everyone is okay. Man says a woman's but is cute, all of a sudden it's a sexual harassment issue. Woman says she's raped by a man, it's a big deal. Man says he's raped by a woman, no one believes him.

DOUBLE STANDARD in society, period. If you aren't gay, good looking straight male, or a woman, then the Networks won't cut you slack on anything you say or do that isn't scripted.

No doubt. If a gay man or woman used gay sexual references to say the same thing Phil Robertson did about his/her personal sexual preference it would have never made news.
It would have been in the Advocate gay magazine and seen as no big thing!

I'd love to see a hot celebrity and a top entertainment magazine have the courage to put a cover on where that hot celebrity, male or female, says on the front cover: "YEP!I'M STRAIGHT!"

Do you think gay bully groups like GLAAD would explode over that one? Oh, yes! (Especially if that celebrity had a cross pendant on so that you couldn't miss it in the picture.)

Because others (many) will tell him they are disgusted by him or say he can not be a representative of their company is not taking away his freedom to say whatever her wants to say .He has not been imprisoned .Hes FREE to kill all the ducks he can get a licence to kill and spew his beliefs to all the other hill billy's in his neck of the woods until the day he dies.

Perhaps that is true. However, to be honest, I pray (desperately so) that Christ comes before this depraved and immoral humanity lasts for another 150 years. I don't want my descendants living in a world like this. It's horrible enough that my own children have to. But I'm sure God's patience will run out sometime and He will bring all of this immoral depravity to an end, thus restoring the earth from sin and corruption.

I don't think you get it.
They are punishing him for speaking freely his beliefs. They are intending to stop him from speaking his beliefs due to what they intend it to cost him if he speaks.
Saying he needs to fall in line, implies Robertson needs to stop speaking about scriptures that condemn homosexuals behavior.
They are in essence stopping him from speaking his beliefs through the implied intimidation tactics employed with harassing those he's affiliated with professionally. As a means of sending him the message that if he speaks out he's going to lose his job.
