Ah, you are right. I keep forgetting this. All my other posts are "nevermind". This apt observation from Servant is the real truth ;)

And by the way, you are not my Superior, and you apparently are not even an obedient Catholic, and thus I do not take orders from you and will not tolerate that sort of arrogance from you. Is that clear?

Entirely so. And now we can be clear on this:

I am not your religious superior, but I am a Senior Administrator on this site.

You are in multiple violations of Christian Forums Rule #1, "No Flaming". Most of your attacks in this thread have been placed against me, but I have reviewed your other posts, and you have displayed the same type of superior, condescending attitude to other members as well.

Ergo, you are hereby unofficially warned. Further violations will result in official warnings. Collect three official warnings inside of a month and you will be suspended; collect three inside of a week or seven inside of a year, and you will be permanently banned from the site.

If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me or any other member of the Staff; if you wish to redress this decision, feel free to contact AngelAmidala or Erwin.

Cordially,

Jesus said, I'd rather you be hot or cold, as lukewarm I spit you out of my mouth" :D

There needs to be heat whenever anyone, me included, tries to assert opinion over Church teaching. It is one thing to offer opinion, it is a whole other thing to dismiss Church teaching and not even address it in a argument but rather to rebut the Church with worthless personal opinion. As the old saying goes, "Opinions are like..... armpits... we all have them and they all stink." That is why we have the Church to guide and teach us in midst of these difficult issues. Without the guidance of the Church on difficult issues like this, we are lost in the maze of an evil world.

stick around a while and I am sure you'll see that I not someone who holds back from enforcing the Church teachings as the rule of our lives, but with all due respect, I do try to stay away from indignation which is what I think got you in trouble. I am only bothering to say that because I would really hate for you to get yourself in trouble and be removed from this board. I do enjoy your posts, and you are clearly an intellegent man.
Peace!
I would really like to see you and Wols be better friends, rather than be so hard on eachother. I do think you both are assets to this board, and seeing you fight in this forum does more harm than good.

Now here is my assesment of what I have learned in this thread -

While the act of the bomb being dropped was gravely immoral, the circumstances, and the full knowledge of its impact may not have fully understood. We can know with certaintly the act was wrong, but cannot imput subjective guilt on those who made the decision to drop it.
I am reminded of a saying from Chesterton, that went something like this "the statement 'My country right or wrong', is to the patriot the same as saying 'my mother drunk or sober'. Maybe with that you can better understand where Wols is coming from.

This is rich, I have flamed no one, but I keep forgetting, Moderators can flame anyone they want with impugnity and come up with definitions on a whim for what a flame is. Good thing Jesus is not here, he "flamed" people too, and He would have done some just flaming in response to the utter lack of courage to obey the Church that has been witnessed in this thread. Just take a look at Matt 23, or St. James in chapter two of his book where he calls the people he is arguing with ignoramouses. They would never make is in an Internet discussion group.

I would advise reading the essay, Three Secret Strategies of Satan: http://www.saint-mike.org/library/BroJP/secret.asp

And also advise, dear fellow, to try to avoid the Liberal Tactics of Obfuscation.

Did this thread get out of hand, yes. It got out of hand by a person having no respect for Church teaching. Kick me out if you can't take the heat of Truth. Kicking a person out is a common way to win an argument on the Internet. I will consider it a badge of honor to be kicked out by a person abusing his moderating power to justify his own misconduct and multiple violations of the Forum rule, and lack of communion with the Church on this issue.

I dream of a day when BBS moderators ACTUALLY follow their own rules ;) but I fear I dream in vain.

Here come the judge, here come the judge, everyone duck cause here come the judge -- with Warning #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7:D what a trip.

Dont' worry dear, I will never speak to you again. You are on ignore. It is not worth my time, and the Apostles and Jesus tell us to shun such situations and people, but I will continue to post what the Church teaches on various topics whether you like it or not. So, better kick me now, cause on topics such as this where the Church has spoken I will follow Jesus and the Apostles and the Saints to defend the Church, and to expose those in disobedience in attitude or in material fact.

Good bye, bubba.

Indignation is the proper response when someone flippantly dismisses the Church's teaching on somethine Such indignation was modelled by Jesus, St. James, and St. Paul.

Well I appreciate that, but if one gets in trouble for asserting church teaching, then this is a pathetic place indeed. Mother Angelica once said that if we are not a thorn in someone's side then we are not doing our job.

If you wish to visit a BBS where Church teaching is never flippantly dismissed, come to our site www.saint-mike.org In a few weeks we will be opening a BBS.

I agree and I never ONCE even hinited at the idea of making any judgement upon those who made the decision. This "discussion" as been on the concept and objective facts of Church teaching, not on individuals in 1945.

Where I am coming from is that "My country right or wrong" is patently stupid. In fact this democracy was built upon the idea that its citizens could protest the government. This phrases like that and especially, "American love it or leave it," is actually anti-democratic philosophy.

As to where this fella is coming from, there is only one place we all need to come from -- the Catholic worldview in obedience and fidelity to the teaching of the Church. If his fella had not spit on Church teaching with his flippant attitude, this whole mess would have never happened.

In any event, what I have said in this thread is the truth, but I should have made the staement from the Church and let dead dogs lie. I apologize to those who have read this thread.

Very well, you have accrued your first official warning, for violation of Rule #7, no public posts regading moderator actions.

I would suggest you regroup and take stock, because at this rate, your ego is likely to get you into further trouble. The choice is yours.

Er... ? ???

Let's see. One guy is in the military (or was) another is a pacifist (sorta). You are going to have different opinions. Let's be serious around here. War is bad stuff. Soldiers in any army rape, specially soldiers who are extremely angry like the soviets. In war you happen to want to win. Why? Cause it's so cool? Nope Cause it's a life or death issue. Oops, not always on the national level, but in ww2 it was.

Anyway, for patriot people, their land is their mom. It is important to have that in mind. :)

BrotherIgnatius, I really think you are preaching the truth, however I think what you are failing to account for is that church teaching is not as clear to everyone as it is to you. Some folks struggle and some folks never learn it in its fullness. In the end, if Wols never beleives dropping the bomb was sinful, it will not effect his salvation, however this matter has become something of a stumbling block at this point. Your statement that he "spit on Church teaching" is unfair - I don't think there was any spitting on Church teaching going on... like you, I happen to be a Catechist, and I do not call my uninformed students heretics, or say they are spitting on Church teaching by their ignorance... thats no way to teach someone. Remember that you as a Catechist have not been entrusted with one type of person to teach... (GDOC, page 1) different people need different methods, however I think we can agree that mocking their opinions gets us nowhere.
Peace.

Dear Servant:

No, this is not quite accurate. One is a arrogant egotistical redneck, it would seem at least in mentality, who likes to post military patches all over the place in some macho display of childishness, the other is a Vietnam Vet who is not a pacifist at all, but submits himself to the Church, God help him.

The FIRST measure of humilty is obedience, whether or not a person mets the other measures of humility or not.

"The more we see failure in obedience, the stronger should be our suspicion of temptation." -- St. Teresa of Avila

"Lord, those are your best servants who wish to shape their life on Your answers rather than to shape your answers on their wishes." --St. Augustine
