  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You need to visit the Singles Cafe.
You never know what we will have in there.
Watch out for Macrina's giraffe though. :D

Can someone with testosterone please explain to me why it is utterly incomprehensible to some ignorami men that a woman should understand, play, and enjoy football?

Tell them that I was a cheerleader and it's like, "yeah, I believe that." Tell them that I can't go to the movies Sunday because I'll be at the sports bar eating wings and watching football and you'd think their heads were about to explode from the sheer effort of trying to wrap their mind around it.

Good Gravy.
Amen. Sing it sister. I hate when guys start "explaining" any sport to me. If it's not curling I probably know at the bare minimum the basic rules. I always want to smack them and I am never impressed that they know how many points a saftey is worth.
We don't go around explaining flower arranging and the color pink to them hoping to awe them.

See, you're cutting in on their male-bonding. They have to be all macho and tough. Their ego cannot handle that a woman understands and likes this. You're starting to trek into their territory and it makes them uncomfortable. Humor them. They need it. ;)

Yikes!!!! What did I step into here???

I actually get a little annoyed when I have to explain the rules of any sport I'm watching. Whether to a woman or a man.
Me too. My take on it is that if you'd shut up and actually watch the game for a little bit, you'd answer your own questions.

We'll remember next time you ask for dating advice - "if you really listened you'd know what a woman wants" :p

PS - if you don't give us details we're like a car without gas - comprende? :p
Hey bubblegirl. Are you trying to say that you have gas? :D

We are preparing for rain from Ivan that is going to start tonight here in WV. Hard to believe the hurricane is that big that rain is coming this far inland.

PS-I'll pass on the guinnea goulash but I'll take some of those mashed potato's and gravy! :yum:
Hi WV - You know, I've been talking to a lady in Trinidad. She says that the fact that Ivan missed them has some people talking about God's blessings - good witnessing opportunity.

I definitely got my carbs this morning (no, the guinnea's were safe). One of the unique things about me is that I don't usually feel hunger. The challenge is that I get focused on things and forget to eat. However, after working a long night last night and over four hours working in the yard this morning I was down to shaking from lack of food. So what was the answer? I got Village Inn to make me biscuits and gravy over a couple of hot turkey slices, with hash browns under fried eggs on the side. Well worth it - I finally started to feel human again. :^)

Kia ora,

(it is hello in Maori, a language only spoken in NZ)

Greetings from the Rocky Mountains of the US. Nice to hear from you - my closest connection to NZ is through my dad. Rev. Francis Nigel Lee is a friend of my Dad's and lives there. At one point I thought about going to work a youth camp there during the summer. I hear that it's a beautiful place there.

It's 2am in Adelaide & I'm on a sugar high. I bought my icey machine & cotton candy machine. Cotton Candy is EASY to make and I'm suddenly disgusted at the prices people are charged. .... for the first weeks in months I'm not a workaholic. Is there a full-moon?
Hi BG - don't bounce off the walls toooooo hard. :^) So how did you acquire your machinery of massive mastication and source of sugar survival? Special delivery or personal messenger?

I finally started ordering water instead of sugary drinks at the fast food restaurant. On reflection that since I was getting ripped off anyway (soda only costs a few cents per tall drink) that I should at least avoid the impacts of the sugar on my system. Watch out for the full moon, though, BG! I just got back from work, but my days have been from 11 to 14 hours long for the last week. Sleep is coming!

Well, after wrestling with alligators and combatting armed bears all day, they like to at least have something where they can feel capable and successful and accomplished... Thanks for the help, Caelda!

(this said from someone who doesn't watch sports except TKD.... On the other hand, I briefly met Juan, the Olympic gold medalist at Olympic tryouts four years ago when I worked them. I wonder if my former instructor was a judge this time? Not much TKD on the sports channels... hmmmm.)
