  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Have a good night, non-eHarmony folks. I signed up for the trial time, but it's so general in its matching and very expensive.... ChristianMingle is much better as I got in on the lifetime thing. Lots of things going by on their boards, though more general chatting.

Hi Cindy! But Mom, I .did. read the instructions! I don't think they ever thought someone would use their vac on fine dirt, though.... it makes too much sense, though. Besides, boys and dirt seem to go together naturally - must be our gardener heritage from Adam.

My brand spankin-new-as-of-today machine is both a blower and a vac. Thanks for the winter idea - I wouldn't have thought of that. My only concern is making sure my electric cords don't short out as I have a very long sidewalk. Sounds like an occasion to use Sign-of-Fish's duck tape at the joints.

I've been watching this thread grow for what, a month now? But I've never posted, so here's my contribution!

Hi everybody! I'm Mandi from Orange County, California where it has been oppressively hot and muggy all day long and I've spent the last 12 hours trying to work up the energy and motivation to finish cleaning my room.

And I think I'm going to give up in favor of going and cross stitching because I'm all fidgety. Blech.

Greetings to star wars lovers everywhere - and to you. Hey Mandi. 12 hours to do nothing is a massive effort. You get the procastinator's star! (I'm a former recipient myself).

As you are a football lover, I'll mention that Rosie Greer did needlepoint. Cross-stitch being a close cousin... Enjoy your pattern. I'll sit back and listen to my bread machine make bread for tomorrow. :^)

Oh, I was quite productive on a much smaller scale than was the plan. I managed to go through a year's back log of cooking magazines and pull the recipes I wanted to catalog, I purged all other magazines. I put my shoes back in my closet and made my bed. I filed billing statements and sorted my new CDs into alphabetical order in my case logic, and then filed the cases in alphabetical order in their holding rack. I even vacuumed part of my room. I'd finish vacuuming since it has cooled down considerably, but I'd rather not disturb my roommate at whatever she's doing. She's a big enough crank meister as it is.

(chuckle) When I was a boy the number one thing to do during room cleaning was to alphabetize and reorganize my books. Last night I slept in the study with all the books rather than the master bedroom - it's the room in my house most like my room growing up. Congrats on your vacuuming - wuhu!

I don't have a large enough library to sort by alphabet, so I sort by subject. I do arrange by height within subjects, though!

I've been collecting since I was 11, so at this point I have about 700 books on the shelves (almost all paperbacks). Current topic divisions: SciFi, Theology, Technical, Everything else (from architecture to interior design to cooking to taekwondo). My coffee table books are the only ones not on the shelves - they're piled under my coffee table, where else? :^)

I spent my week crocheting my rug and making popcorn between studying & writing.

Today I've been looking up a fairy floss machine & softserve icecream/slushee/sorbet/frozen yoghurt maker.

What'll it be folks - party at my place!!

Party at your place, sounds awesome.... do we get to dance on the new rug, use the fairy floss maching (what is that ...sounds dental) and/or eat ice cream/slushees/sorbet/frozen yogurt while doing so.... now that's multi-tasking :p, could be dangerous though, one wrong move and the rug is spilled on, the fairy floss has ripped our gums and the frozen stuff is on the floor around us instead of soothing the ripped gums. ;)

eHarmony, heh, my dad wanted to get me on there for my birthday. I said thanks, but no thanks.

Thanks! It was a pretty decent night and now I'm off for two days! YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW! I work Tuesday night and then I'm off work for an entire week while I head to St. Louis for the Joyce Meyer Women's Conference. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!

Just what, exactly, is a fairy floss machine??? Does it make floss out of fairies? Does it make floss for fairies? Does it make floss by fairy power?

Fairy floss = cotton candy :p

Yes, I didn't make it to worship today, although I was missed. I spent the whole day pretty much asleep or resting, although I did get up in the middle and make an omelette, and pushed some fluids. The headache is pretty much gone now. I wish I knew how to get the knots out of my forearms, though - ouch. Well, if nothing else they make my forearms look muscular. :^)

My teeth won't rot out because salt levels out sugar! So it'd be icecream , dinner, cotton candy, popcorn :p

I haven't had softserve or slushees in years because by the time Mum bought it home, showered and brought it inside it'd be mush. Popcorn doesn't have REAL butter anymore, but butter flavouring, and fairy floss is too expensive. I thought I'd save myself some time and trouble and make it myself. :)
