  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Estes Park... in CO, correct? That's where a couple a work got married last month. I saw pictures, it was postively gorgeous!!! They said it was lovely weather.

Now that would be a place to hike and get about enjoying God's handy work!!

Estes Park was great. We were at a conference center called Covenant Heights, near the trail heads for Long's Peak and Wild Basin. It was indeed gorgeous. The second day it did rain just a bit, but then it all turned off and the sun came out again.

I had an excellent couple of hours talking to a couple of teenagers from our Castle Rock congregation - everything from personality to living life before God and counting blessings one day at a time. That is, not living in tomorrow or yesterday, but living before God today while being aware of the past and looking forward to the future. We also talked about the idea of what it really means to trust God and to truly serve Him - no 'if's, 'and's, or 'but's, when it comes to God and living. It was an excellent early afternoon.

17... Is anyone else out there hiding? I think they all fell down behind the bushes!

16... any other kids hiding?

It was an excellent day. Happily the ground up there is a combination of clay and a lot of sand on top. Hardly any mud. On the other hand there wasn't a lot of rain either. :^)

The fellowship at the retreat was excellent. We also ended up playing Killer Bunnies far into the night - beware the playing of the Miniature Black Hole in the middle of your territory! And if you can possibly avoid it, don't play the card that closes the carrot store...

Killer Bunnies!

Killer Bunnies is a fast paced, action filled card game, in which you must try to keep as many Bunnies alive as possible, while eliminating your opponents' Bunnies. The problem: Your opponents are armed with weapons and will stop at nothing to keep you from winning the game, which can get dreadfully vengeful, horribly nasty, hilariously messy, and just plain fun!

Can you keep from being attacked by the whimsical Whisk or the torching Flame Thrower? Defend your Bunnies with the Magic Spatula, or use a Feed The Bunny card to starve out an opponent! It's off-the-wall strategic fun, where the goal is to survive and claim the Magic Carrot to win the game!

Details are at - http://www.killerbunnies.com/

It's a blast to play. And for those who do play, there's nothing like playing a Black Hole on the other side of the table to take out just about everyone else at the table while you of course have defense cards to protect your own bunnies from even having to roll dice to survive! Players at the table ranged from the 12-year old to me and we all had fun. And of course since it was a family camp there were all sorts of goodies to make the palate happy as well. :^)

Oh Keil.. don't kill the bunnies. Please don't kill the bunnies.. haha.. looks like an interesting game without a doubt. Would be an interesting way to find out who is competative and who is passive. I'd guess it could bring out he competativeness in all who played. I'm usually not competative, but get me in a good game of monopoly.. especially with one friend of mine who is more competative than me and watch out! :p

Ah, but you see, you need a bunny in order to use a weapon. Turns out that it's the bunnies who do the actual attacking.

Curiously, everyone ends up being competitive, it's just that some are much better strategic players than others. Almost always everyone gangs up on the player with the most bunnies on the field. I remember a sweet high-school girl who was playing with us ---- "Just wait until the next turn - you'll see! I'm going to kill your bunny - just wait!"

A: "These rabbits have fangs! They're the most evil, distempered creatures!"
B: "Don't be silly! ...... Aaaaaaargh!"

Thanks Bro.

LoL... how do you edit the rules?
We ususally put all the fees and taxes in the center of the board instead of the bank, and whoever first lands on Free Parking wins the Lotto. :D The problem with this is that the bank tends to run short, so we have, at times, included the money from other games like Life. There are other things. Like no building limits, or stricter building limits. Double your money if you land on Go instead of passing it. As long as everyone agrees at the start, you can make up anything.

Hey Keil, watch out for those HS girls. They aren't as sweet as the pretend. They're killers.:D

'Death awaits you all, with nasty, big, pointy teeth.'
'What an excentric performance.'
