Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A man who pulled himself up by his own bootstraps as they say...is better off than university and college graduate kids with dual income homes.....
Like one of the oldest proverbs, proven true always:

Before getting your son an 'education', give him a trade. (then he can make a living when no one else might, and then he can get an education if he wants)

The house is now worth $750,000.00 but not one of us kids can afford to take possession and pay the other sibling 1/3 of the price. The home will not remain in the family and all of us kids have families with dual incomes in jobs that required education, some are professionals, and pay in the upper range. Yet we cannot carry on or match what the life of a 10th grade graduate factory worker who accumulated his home on a factory wage did it in 30 years in a factory.
....
...
reminds me of the Churches taking (robbing) widows and widowers and families of their homes(for decades or centuries), leaving the children/ relatives/ heirs/ often homeless themselves and doing nothing (won't lift a finger) to help them,
as it is written....

not to mention all the (censored) encouraging house flipping and corporate real estate buying as much land/ house / real estate to double and triple the prices inflationary without any reason except GREED...... (well known for thousands of years, and especially the last 100 years in the USA and worldwide)

Listen, everybody thinks money is the problem right?

Okay, give everyone a billion dollars and make education, healthcare, transportation free. See what happens.

It doesn't work. It isn't even biblical.

Invite them into the Church of Acts 4. See what happens

I'm not talking about tithing. Everyone can give what's in their heart as Paul said. What's in our heart though? The Church of Acts 4?

Were their multitudes and multitudes saved during Jesus's ministry? Yes. Did they all give up everything they had and take up the cross? NO.

Charity is a choice God gives us. We can either layup treasures here on earth or in heaven. It's voluntary, god doesn't mandate it. It's a personal choice. To make it mandatory is biblical.

Yes its a choice. I am surely not, nor have I ever, implied mandatory tithing. I'm talking about the heart.

OK. God expects everyone to work 6 days a week. He also expects the church to take care of the sick/unable using the tithe etc.

Are you reading a real bible? A king james bible?

What exactly are you asking me? I don't believe in tithing laws. I'm talking about what's in our heart.

My point is, entitlement is unbiblical. There is no such thing as free education and health care. At the end of the day, somebody pays for it.

Are you talking about worldly politics? The world doesn't care what is biblical. THey are not going to follow the bible. However, if we let the light of Christ shine they might. The Church of acts 4 shined brightly I think.

Matthew 6:19-24King James Version (KJV)
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Matthew 5:40King James Version (KJV)

40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Yes, it's voluntary. It is not a sin to not give. You have a choice. You can not give and "gather" your money on earth (collect your reward now)...or you can give and God will reward you later. It is VOLUNTARY. Do you not understand those verses?

Great cherry picking biblical verses. If everyone did that, you can make the bible say anything you want. How about we use the whole bible and follow through with the verses????

Love fulfills the law. Legalists look for loopholes in written laws, but the law of the spirit looks for love.

Jesus says WOE to those who gather treasure on earth.
That means they do not get to rejoice or get comforted later. (They lost)

You're taking verses out of context!!! Jesus never said WOE to those who gathered treasured on earth...if he did, quote the scripture then. Go ahead.

Those other verses you quoted have to do with SIN! Not voluntary charity! Why don't you quote the WHOLE context instead of just 1 verse? Go ahead.

So, you think sinning is okay?
