  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've never been called racist because I disagreed with one other person who happened to be a minority of a different race or ethnic group. Sorry to hear that you have, that is a silly argument to say the least.

One cannot disagree with Obama without being called a racist, and one certainly not disagree with BLM without being called a racist. It happens every day.

One can and does disagree with Obama and they are not called racists. It happens every day.

One posts such meaningless drivel when one has not argument.

Since the policemen also makes comments on the video, and they corroborate the lawyers' statements, why are the girlfriend's comments more credible?
Again, we were discussing the statements of the girlfriend on the video vs the statements of the lawyer in the article. You are trying to change the subject.

What a load. I disagree with Obama and BLM pretty often, but I've never been called a racist for it.

No, the lawyer said on the article that the shooting had nothing to do with race. That wasn't corroborated by anything the officer said in the video. The officer said something like "I told him not to reach for the gun," which does not provide any indication of the cop's mindset regarding the victim's race unless you are claiming that the fact that the officer didn't specifically mention race somehow vindicated him.

BTW if this had nothing to do with race why was the girlfriend, who did nothing wrong, handcuffed and taken to the police station? Why was a person who by all accounts done nothing wrong placed in handcuffs?

I'm not wrong. It has happened to me.

Eric Holder even said as much. Google it.

You're certainly wrong about "One cannot disagree with Obama without being called a racist, and one certainly not disagree with BLM without being called a racist." I've disagreed with both, loudly and publicly, and I haven't yet been called a racist.

Don't care what Eric Holder may have said.

Oh, but you have. Various figures, including Morgan Freeman, have gone on record that all disagreement with Obama is racist.

I like the article. I'm also thankful Gibbs is black when he made these observations so that the counter pointers that are all about racism can't attack him.

I read the media spins on the civilian shootings of late and they all almost without exception approach these reports with the, poor black man, syndrome.
Oh, he was shot and unarmed. How awful. Bad cop! Evil. Murdering cop!

One guy has only his girlfriend, who was his side piece according to some non-mainstream reports, giving a running narrative perfectly calm as her bf is dying right beside her. She's telling the cop who's pointing the gun at her what he said to her BF prior to the shooting.
But that's not true. Now she's changing her story. Which makes her unworthy of being given the benefit of truth.
Her BF was a gang member who fit the description of a double suspect armed robbery in the area. There's no broken tail light like she's saying in her running report to her FB page. Because when your BF's shot that's the first thing you think to do right? Log onto FB and live stream!

The other black guy, since it seems this is the age of the poor black man shot syndrome, died on his back in a mini market parking lot. He had a gun in his pocket.
He's also a convicted child rapist. Personally, the world's not going to miss scum like that. He's never ever going to harm another child's body or innocence. Let Hell take care of him now.

The other guy that was shot was a veteran of our armed forces and was hunting white cops. He murdered five of them, injured something like 7 others, and even shot civilians. Like a mom who was protecting her sons as they were fleeing for their lives.
He was blown up by a police robot rover carrying C-4. GOOD! He refused to negotiate with police and was determined to kill as many as came at him. Cops didn't kill that guy. He killed himself by insisting he would kill cops until he was stopped. And he was.
I don't whine over that loser either. Because he was shooting anyone he could aim at. Claiming he wanted to kill white cops. While shooting at cops. He should have been in a mental hospital. Instead his legacy is cop killer. Good riddance.

Gibb's article was brave. And right on. The people that tend to get in trouble with cops are the people who think they can overpower cops. Sure there are some people that are just idiots and they wear a badge. But by and large people who cooperate with police are treated with the same respect they show police.

Is there a racial issue between civilians and cops? Oh, heck yes! And here's the thing about that. When people stop demonstrating the stereotype that makes police have to act in defense, the racial factor will probably slow down or cease all together. But when you've got people who want to act the thug, violate their own people in their own neighborhoods, string out their community including children on drugs, when they get those same kids to sling drugs and guns, and one of those same thug types ends up dead, that's the wager that's part of the game. And they know it.

And then that community that that dead thug type victimized for years and who didn't know him or her ends up protesting one less predator in their midst. By burning down the businesses that they own, or that serve their community.

Like the Rodney King thing. Every cop in that video should still be in prison. But they were found not guilty. What happens. Chaos breaks out and a community goes on the offensive acting exactly like the movies portray them to be, the stereotypes label them as. And then they get mad when people give it a name. And they call it racism. No, it isn't racism. It's conscious observation of a personality type that garners attention through their behaviors.

And then the weak who have never encountered that community in their lives whine about it. Empathize with it. And call all that transpires to settle it down racism. And to feel better about themselves for doing that they accept that violent community and their sponsors own racist label for those empathizer's so they can feel better about themselves being they feel guilty for being Caucasian; White Privilege.

Pathetic!

It's like that line in the Masterpiece Denzel Washington movie, Malcom X. A white woman comes up to X and asks him what she can do to help his cause. As he and his Black Muslim brothers are marching down the street. He looks straight ahead and says; Go home!

No kidding lady! What were you thinking?

Excellent article and it applies to all races that buy into the entitlement mentality. I was born and raised in the city and there are racists on both side of the fence. So any time people think the whities are at fault just go to any intercity and walk the streets and see how long it takes to get accosted. Get back to me when those that think this BLM is something out of the ordinary.

Well, don't more white people get killed by police than any other race? Sounds like us white folks have a police attitude problem. I should inform my friends to quit being jerks to cops since they are most likely to be shot by them.

Ghetto culture is colorblind. It ruins the lives of black & white alike.

He wasn't a gang member, and it's not a crime to resemble someone else.

Yes, bad cop. Maybe even murdering cop, depending on the circumstances.

None of those things carry the death penalty. And they certainly don't have shoot-on-sight penalties attached to them.

America does not have a He needed killin' policy of law enforcement.

No, he's just a member of the Crips. They're a social group.
No one said it is a crime to resemble someone else.
It is probable cause to pull over a vehicle when a driver resembles one of two armed bank robbers who just held up a bank in the area.

Yes, bad cop. Maybe even murdering cop, depending on the circumstances.
Likely those that don't involve you being on the receiving end of the thug the cop shoots to save your life. Other than that, bad cop all the time mentalities are a waste of time.
Until they need to call the cops to save their cop hating selves. Then it's a whole different line of rhetoric.

None of those things carry the death penalty. And they certainly don't have shoot-on-sight penalties attached to them.
Tell that to the mom's and dad's that bury their children because those things dispense the death penalty.

America does not have a He needed killin' policy of law enforcement.
They don't need to. People who weep for the death of a convicted violent child molester who had children with a stupid woman who gave birth to got their live is sacred priorities screwed up.

Unlike other boards this site doesn't have a drop menu that shows the names of all those who replied in a thread. But I went into the News and Current Events section and saw enough discussions about those I referred to so that you've got all the sources you need.

Oh . . . in that case, at what point in the video did the victim ever yell out that he has a gun?

It's right before he reaches into his car, just as his Gf also described.
