Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does God audibly speak to you in prayer?

  • Yes. God talks to me all of the time.

  • No. God speaks to me through His Word.

  • God has spoken to me in an audible voice.

If a person is sincerely seeking God he will find a way to speak to that person. The first way is the Bible. Everything flows from that and agrees with the Boys ble. But God can speak through others. Sometimes even the ungodly and unaware. But to those who have the fullness of the Holy Spirit he also speaks in a voice that may sometime sound audible to the person hearing it. But usually it is subtle. Something your spirit bears witness. The witnesses of the still small voice are your own spirit, the Bible and the Holy Spirit, they must agree and be in God's nature. There are many examples in scriptures. But God has been know to speak audibly as well. After all he is God.

Jesus made it clear how to judge a prophet in Matthew 7:15-20
15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

So judge a prophet or indeed any minister by their fruit, not by whether you like the message or presentation. Since that is what Jesus said, why not obey HIM!

So you are the judge of men like Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Pat Robinson also openly practices gifts of the Spirit so I suppose you condemn him and others.

The false teachings and prophecies of Hinn and Copeland are well documented. Let me know if you want some specific examples.

You do know that there have been many accounts of people being raised from the dead by prayer. I was present at one such event.

Were they certified dead, rigor-mortis set in, in their coffin waiting to be buried? Or did someone just faint?

And yes thousands of us have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit the same the examples that have been shown you before in scripture.

Excellent. All believers receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the moment they believe.

I for one speak in tongues, have imparted spiritual gifts to others, and have often spoke with God.

You spoke in a foreign human language that you hadn't previously learned?

Well God has a word for you. He told me he would give you space to repent.

Did God tell you that in an audible voice in your head, or was it a fuzzy feeling?

You can also determine a false prophet if what they spoke didn't really come from God. Were the words they quote the actual words of the Lord spoken to them in an dream or vision (Ezek 3:10-11, Num 12:6)? Or was it a feeling or something that came into their minds, which they verbalized using their own words, and then claimed were the words of God?

Jeremiah 14:14 "Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds."

Jeremiah 23:16 "“Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord."

Jeremiah 23:25-26 "I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?"

Deuteronomy 18:20 "But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death.”

Another way to tell a false prophet is if their teachings are unbiblical:

Deuteronomy 13:1-6 "If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you."

Isa 8:20 "Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn. "

Kindness is rare on Christian forums.

So is discernment.

Jeremiah 23:25-26"I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?"

I didn't ask for person accounts, and if anyone is heartless, it's not me.

Forgive me then - I thought you had asked for them...

Telling the truth takes a lot of heart.

The poster you attacked was telling the truth...

You judged him...

P L E A S E don't insult my intelligence. That's something I can not tolerate.

Jesus did - Do you not follow Him?

If you want to debate anything with some degree of intellectual honesty, I am happy to reply, but, other than that I won't.

Disagreement with you is not necessarily intellectual dishonesty...

People had a 747 fly into them and the ones that weren't killed by that were burned alive in a fiery jet-fuel bath. If they weren't that fortunate, they died slowly inhaling scorching toxic smoke. I'm sure that they and their families are so happy that your friend got a "word" and saved the day.

It was bad - And could have been a lot worse...

You do not know the Mind of God on the effect of this man's actions...

Now donkeys are speaking to you. Where does it end?

Keep braying for me! :)

I regret that some people will stop at nothing to destroy testimonies of God's work. I pity you.

I did not know about 911 in advance. I don't remember what if anything I prayed at that time, but it was certainly without urgency. I do not claim that my prayers made any difference at that time. I just don't know.

I consider God impressive, but I don't think that God speaking to me makes me impressive. In fact, I have several spiritual gifts that are more impressive than hearing from God. Even so, I have been able to remain impressively humble.

There is one thing that I hope impresses God: I have faithfully prayed for Washington DC every day since 911 until now, which is over 14 years.

Why would God gift him with a foreign language that needs an interpreter?

God Bless you, my Brother...

It is hard for some here to understand what happened with you in any other way than their own egotism...

They have not had any visitation with God...

They can only understand those who have...

As they understand themselves who have not...

They are being as kind-hearted as they can...

They think hard-heartedness is kind...

As a rebuke of the egotism...

Which is all they can see...

When you truthfully speak with them...

They know not what they do...

Please pray for them...

Just like Jesus, I keep looking for the fruit. Why is fruit so important? Because even if everyone agrees with me, we could all be wrong. In the end the fruit reveals the tree. If one side of the argument ignores the fruit, then it is clearly unbiblical and anti-Christ, for Christ says to check the fruit.

Here is the passage that transformed my understanding of how to grow in godliness Galatians 5:16-26
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
To grow in Christ we must:
-walk by the Holy Spirit
-live by the Holy Spirit
-keep in step with the Holy Spirit

Then the Holy Spirit will create the fruit of Holiness: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.

If one claims to follow the voice of God through the Holy Spirit and has the fruit of the Holy Spirit, then that is strong evidence that God does speak to us today.

You don't believe we are supposed to heal the sick and raise the dead?

Give it a shot, and take pictures.

It is hard for some here to understand what happened with you in any other way than their own egotism...

There are other explanations: Demonic powers, low or high thyroid hormone, brain disorders, mental illness, attention-seeking, bad teaching. . . There are many, many explanations, but God speaking directly to him in this instance is not one of them.

They have not had any visitation with God...

All regenerate people have been visited by God, and I am no different. My conversation was very dramatic.

They think hard-heartedness is kind...

I know the difference.

They know not what they do...

I know exactly what I am doing.

Please pray for them...

That's never a bad idea.

Been praying for healing for so many years.
First time was when my baby was burning up with fever and probably
couldn't breathe very well iirc. It was the middle of the night and I was
kind of scared. Then I remembered that Jesus had said:

Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. 24"Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
So I prayed and I believed and I received.
That was the first time I watched God's Word work.
The first time i was a DOER of His Word!

I went on to have some more babies and many years of praying
for their health. Every time someone fell ill or any trouble, we prayed!
Can say that there was about a 10 year space, that, with 8 children,
there were no doctor visits. Some of my kids don't even have another
doctor after God. I have no other Physician.
Doctors are the third leading cause of death in USA. Aint nobody got
time for that! :D
